Our Palace
Apolytonia is the greatest nation in the world. Our people have access to 5 different luxuries. We have an approval rating of 79%, which is the world's highest!
And yet, our President and Vice President live in a disgraceful dump! I mean, look at it! Even I live in a nicer place.
We need to do something about it, NOW!
And just to clarify, I don't mean something like trashing my own place, I mean something like upgrading the presidential quarters.

Seriously now - why don't the people offer to upgrade the palace? Does anybody know what conditions must be met before your palace can be upgraded?

Shouldn't we have a poll on what theme to upgrade the Palace with so the game doesn't have to pause for it?

hmmm
Shiber, I think more improvements and an end to this perpetual state of war we live would be a step in the right direction.

joncnunn, IIRC, when an upgrade to the palace is available the president can instead press the X at the top right corner of the screen. He'll be able to make the upgrade the next time he enters the Palace View screen.

Can anyone confirm this?

we DID have a poll on what style...I know MrWIA made one after he upgraded the grass...
As far as what conditions...I believe that happens after certain conditions: IE, after successfully defending a city for the first time, x % happy for the first time...stuff like that. At least, that seems to be the way it works in my own games...

What was the winning style?
Hum, I hadn't noticed a pattern other than happiness seeming to be important.

The only thing Im sure about with getting it upgraded is it always seems to occur after defeating a barbarian attacking one of my cities in the early game After that, ive never really noticed a pattern, though in many games ive had it upgraded 4 or 5 times in the space of 20 turns in the very late game.
