How fair these unique units are?

I think unique units are not fairly created.For example Greek hoplite unit has an increased defence bonus of 50% according to spearman while russian cossack unit has an increased defence of 33% according to cavalry.

Russians get their +1 on a later unit, early UUs have their own disadvantage, earlier obsoletence, early GA and such.

hows this, when swordsman fights spearman he overwhelms by 50% more stat. When Immortal fights hoplite, he only overwhelms by mere 33% more stat.

Same can be applied to legions except legion will overwhelm immortals in 50% more stat when attacking! talk about inequality WITHIN the same era!

I think immortals can be unfair in the ancient era, esp. if not playing with a roman, because they can overwhelm basically anyone if you get them early.
