I don't like the sound of that... in the end, the "First Apolyton PBEM game" will never be played
Calc II... please respond, we don't want to lose another player...

Hey guys, I wanted to tell you that I'm leaving Sunday in my holiday vacation and it's quite possible to meet you again only in 2003, so:
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a
HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Good civin' !
(psst, Vondrack: beat the sh*t out of them, but let something for me, too )

I've already sent it twice.
Obviously the email address I was told to send it to was wrong.

Yes ... I know he doesn't have it password protected yet, but if this file shows up with any more than 1 download then there will be trouble.
Here's the save Calc, plus please PM me your email address. Please.
When I receive a PM from Calc telling me he's downloaded this file then I'll remove it.
attachment removed

As it seems Calc is effectively blocking this game from starting... it would be my pleasure to replace him, taking whatever civ he had (unless you have other reserve players that enlisted earlier, of course).
There may be a slight problem, however, as I promised to play Tiberius' first turns... would be playing two players for a short while...

Unless we get someone else to do Tiberius' turn,
maybe Calc can do them

sorry guys i havent been checking the forums extensively.
Im back in my hometown and friends are here and ya know.. I will start the game as soon as holidays are over. Im guessing most of you wont be available during that time too. I have gotten the three saves. I will send them soon. Sorry.
FP, I have not gotten either of the save files. But I have now checked the thread and downloaded the save file so you can remove the attachment if you wish. Tell me what your emailing address is, I think my spam filter is blocking your emial. Me and ghengis had this exact problem and it turned out to be so. Apologies once again.
On a side note, its good to know that people miss me alot.

You wont like to hear this.
You sent me the file before you played your turn. either i play the turn for you so i can get to my turn (bad idea) or send me another file. unfourtunately damage has been done and i did see your starting location although i stopped myself from seeing exactly where in minimap you are.

Looks like someone is gonna have to be very polite to ADG, I'm not gonna ask him start another one
We should go for a restart though....is this game cursed in any way??

Ok, I'm starting to get confused now... does FrustratedPoet has the game now, and he sent the game unplayed to Calc II ???
I guess this "game" will hold the record in most times restarted

I'm an idiot.
I don't care that Calc saw my start location, so I'll send him the correct file from the current game. I'm the only person disadvantaged, and since it was my fault anyway then I don't mind at all.
No need to restart.

Something is seriously ****ed up.
Actually ... I'm beginning to think it was all alva's fault. (j/k mate )
Seriously, though ... the save that alva sent to me in the first place (it was weeks ago now) was from HIS turn ... not mine.
I opened it and played it and (because I'm an idiot ) didn't notice that it was supposed to be alva's go. When I sent the new save to Calc the game thought it was supposed to be my turn - because I'm after alva.
In short - we ****ed it up.
I'm now thinking that it would be easier to restart.

Hmmm... ok, that means it was either me or Alva who sent the wrong save file... I guess we'll have to restart then...
I will restart tomorow then, since it's getting late
Btw, in our poll-results, it wasn't fully clear, on the map size yet:
Quote:
|
Map size :
small : 3 votes
standard : 2 votes
random : 1 vote
undecided
|
I chose small map, since it has got most votes, but alva wrote undecided, so what do we chose for the next game? Small? Standard? Or is there some map-size between those two sizes? (I don't remember if there is)...
Anyway, unless somebody objects, I'll just pick small map again...

And we are supossed to be the experts, we hang around here all day, every day, and we can't even get a PBEM going
Are you sure, you played my turn FP? My starting pos wasn't all that bad IIRC, ah well, third time lucky...I hope...
IIRC: the reason I put down undecided, was that someone vote random. If that would come out as a 'standard vote'---->undecided
5 players on a small map = eugh rather smallish

Well ... it said "alva848 it's your turn" (or whatever) when I opened the file.

well whatever you do, FP should send me his save under the email address posted. My hotmail's spam filter does too crappy of a job filtering. All the spams make it inbox and all the important mails get caught in the filter. Arghhh.
btw does restarting mean i have a say in wat civ i wanna be? I dont care if you put me down for random though.

For now, we have settled that I put all the new civs in a hat, and pick some random new civs for the players, but I personally don't mind if some players choose their own civ... What do you others think? And what civ would you chose then?

Sure , no problem
If so...
My choice for this one would be:
Ottomans,
Carthage,
America (in that order)
