Outrageous AI vs AI bribery
The little russian peninsula at the western end of my greek empire was trying to defend it self against the tanks and bombers of the Zulus with phalanx. I knew I was next, so I tried to slow the Zulus down 'cause I was building my spaceship.

Not wanting a war with the zulus at the moment I gave every turn 3 tanks, 3 fighters and 3 mech. Infantries at the russians (which had 1 city - their capital Moscow). At the same time I had peace with the zulus.

Conquest of Russia became impossible for the zulus. After thatfact became apparent to the AI they BRIBED the russian capital. I know AI cheats but this is too much.

War with the zulus started the next 2 turns as I knew it would happen...

Outrageous.

Yep, I agree. And most of the times the AI bribes units and cities with units other than diplos. That has ruined more than one scenario.

The AI shows no mercy nor does it play by the rules. I had to get used to that fact a couple of times. How do you get around it? Beat each AI civ into submission as early as possible so that they wouldn’t dare cheat. Duh, right? Easier said than done sometimes.

I would agree with you, though. That was a pretty blatant AI cheat.
