Like I said last week, this guy's going to get at least 2 more kills before he's caught/killed. I have to admit, he's good at what he does and is smart enough to avoid being caught so far.
My condolences to the victims' families.

he's never going to be captured. . Only if he brags to someone or he makes a serious mistake.
This is an easy crime to get away with. I could get away with it.

There are a significant number of people at my school who are somewhat rooting for this guy. The media is really making him look pretty badass.

Well not really saying they are glad he is killing people, but they just find it compelling that some guy is doing such a good job at killing random people. Randomness is kinda becoming a fad.

Not quite. Alberta is like the Texas of Canada in that it's the most conservative, but that just means we're rather centrist in the US. Texas is way out there compared to us.

So killing random people is somehow morally defensible while just killing people isn't? Anyone who is cheering him on, especially if it's just because it's "random," is disgusting and needs a reality check.

Randomness makes him seem more interesting. I mean, people near a craft store, people pumping gas. Completely random. It wouldn't be so interesting if there seem to be some sort of plan.

it is the fascination with chaos and destruction that some people have
since he has no plan, he seems interesting becuase he is nothign but destructive, for the reason of being destructive

While I'm not cheering him on and certainly don't condone murder of any sort, I must admit that I am finding this fascinating. The randomness, the fact that he knows what he's doing, and the media reactions to it make it interesting.
EDIT:
It sure didn't take long for T-Shirt Hell to get a design up based on this:

Yeah, it's interesting. We're all interested, that's why we opened this thread. It's also horrific, animalistic, pyschotic and tragic. It's not in any way cool.
I'm interested to the point of wanting to see him tortured in the most insanely painful ways as he obviously can only be hurt in physical ways because he is not a human being.

I'm still conducting my searches for the murderer of O.J. Simpson's wife and Usama Bin Ladin. I'm having trouble getting a passport for Pakistan, so I may just resume the search for the murderer of O.J. Simpson's wife.

Supposedly there was a Delta Force sniper who was interviewed on CNN who was eager to go after this guy.

How interesting. Apparently the locations of these victims are forming crosses. This ties into the whole "I am God" thing quite nicely. Apparently we have a real nutjob on our hands.

Looks to me like he's randomizing his locations, just to throw them off from predicting the vicinity of his next attack. Devil.

humans have a strange fascination with the dark side (no not the star wars dark side- that is cool).
It would be foolish to deny it. The success of movies like Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon show this. Not to mention the popularity of Charles Manson.
Manson is an interesting one. Maybe because his plan for world domination was so over the top, yet despite that, he still attempted it. Although that case is different since he didn't actually kill anyone. His power of human control was remarkable, even to this day.
In this case you have a guy who is probably a loser in every other aspect of life, but he has good vision and a decent weapon with the desire to use it. In most cases we would never look at this guy twice. Yet he is installing fear in an entire region of the country.
I certainly don't want to see people killed. But I have no control over the situation. I won't hide my fascination to "rubber-neck" the carnage.

Last I heard they have all the roads leading in and out of the town where the last person was shot blocked off, so perhaps our crafty fox has finally met his match.

This is an interesting scenario.
I have lived in Northern Va for almost 7 years now. Some of the Virginia shootings were places I drove by everyday or stoped at a couple times a year. Chances are a serial killer drove down the street a half a block from where I am sitting, while he was shuttling between Maryland (not convinced he lives there) and Fredericksburg.
I find it is interesting that random bullets are now catching middle Americans in a very efficient way. And in the ways they react.
**warning: Uninformed generalizations Approaching**
Haven't rappers and moviemakers been trying to tell me about how devastating uncoordinated violence is to a community? Kids in bunk bed in front of a window killed by stray bullets? Drive-bys? Mistaken identity gangland style murders?
Now I find that 'interesting' that to have a tiny taste of what that feels like. When I go out and walk the dog at night, I now have a tickle at the back of my head that I could be exposed to a 300-yard headshot. That is why I am following this so intently.
It is a new experience that needs to be learned from, but hopefully won't last too long.
P.S. the reaction time of the VA police is getting frighteningly fast....this sniper needs to lay off for a month or he will be caught.

Frighteningly or thankfully? I suspect it's not your intent, but this sentence sounds sympathetic to the bastard.

I am surprised by the reaction time. But it is good of course.
With all the false alarms I'm sure they are getting, I am impressed.
