Questions about MGE patch
Hi.
A civfanatics fellow asked me how to make MGE patch work on a FW version. He claimed an SMEDSNET error, in spite of all his effort to install it.
OK. These are the questions:
a) does SMEDSNET act on CD-ROM? or is SMED.LOG?
b) does MGE patch works if added to NO-CDROM patch?
Thanks, Prometeus

Prom.
a) I don't know. But, He can download SMEDSENT from Cedric's page, download section
b) I firmly believe that the answer is yes.
And cedric says, that, if you don't have 2.42 or TOT, you must the ZIP-version patch, not the EXE-version.
I hope it will help your fellow.

There's a mge patch?
how do I get it? (finally, I can play subwars without hacking the events file to make it small enough for FW )

Fairline: it's available from the Civfanatics Civ2 downloads section.
Prom: Cedric regularly vists the CFC Civ2 tech support section, and seems to be happy to sort out problems with his patch.

Does this version actually work with a reasonable degree of stability?
I tried a version downloaded from ... don't remember where exactly, about a year and a half ago and, er, well, one reinstall of civ2 later I vowed never to attempt the like again ...

I used it to patch my copy of ToT to MGE, and I've never had any problems

I am playing PBEM games on my FW->MGE update, but I am still designing scenarios with FW.
