No.You still have to journey back to your hideout to save.In VC you start out at a beachfront hotel for a base.Oceanview is the name.
Man there ALOT of cops around in VC.There is an immigration officer guy that patrols on foot and they seem to be everywhere. You don't just commit a crime now.You best have a look around first.

I have this game sitting on my desk right now.
I won't have a chance to play it until after work today, though.

Has there been any info about the pc release?
Would have been nice, if they included MP

I've just read on some other forum, that Sony paid rockstar games tons of money, to make them stop making a pc version...does anyone know more about this?
Though I also found this site: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters...561641,00.html
Were they say, it will be released to the pc...who's right? and who's wrong?

Actually they paid for exclusiveness. This game will not show up on any other consoles. There will be a PC version. If history is the guide then something like 3-4 months from now.

Oh boy. No Vice City game for me!
Good that they have automatic aim now. Shooting with the mouse was too difficult in gta3. You have to shake it once in a while (or clean it? nah.)

Personally I like the save system they have in place for the games as it is now. Being able to save at any time would make it that much easier and, in my opinion, not as fun.

I agree 100%. If you could save the game anywhere during a mission it would be a bit too easy.
Anyway, to each his own...

Good thing is as you accumulate cash, you can buy condos, apartments.mansions etc...all over the city.So you won't be that far from a hideout.Getting the cash takes awhile though. One of my most profitable ventures is to go to Little Havana or whatever and just park.Soon you see gang wars in the streets.Just cruz up and grab all the weapons and cash left by the deceased
The helicopters are very cool
The water is beautiful but I am having some problems controlling boats

Yeah, in a game like this, the save system, should be something like this... I never got into the missions in GTA1 and GTA2, since I back then, didn't want to be bothered with saving, but now I have found the point in the save system, so I like it very much

I am not sure I will get this, though I did enjoy GTA3 for PC.
The guy talks in this one, which is a turn off for me.

Once you can afford to buy other places, yes.I have just 2 residences now but I will always save in the one that is closest to my choice of next mission for example. The city is huge.Having to go to 1 hideout location would very time consuming.
Tommy Vercetti's comments are quite funny. The story line and cut scenes are quite well done.

(Then again, I haven't "completed" either of them, yet )

The fact that you can actually furnish your home and acquire a wardrobe over the course of the game certainly seems like a nice touch, though

How does this work?

I heard there were bugs. (You can get shot through walls. You can lose a mission because your partner broke his ankle running down a ramp.) Any truth to it??

Nope.I havn't been shot thru a wall.In fact sneaking along walls and such with the sniper rifle is a good technique is most missions.
There are a few missions where you have "partners".If they get hurt or killed it may jeopardize the mission but I wouldn't call that a bug.
The only "bug" I have noticed is sometimes(twice in 50 odd hours) you may loose a certain weapon after saving.Like you save and now you have no UZI anymore.Just means another journey to a weapons shop or cache.
You can buy many properties in this version. Each property has a save after you own it.Saving is a snap.Never more than a few blocks away.AND,you can save right outside your current mission most times.
You do get new outfits to choose and use as you progress.Aside the police uniform, they don't seem to do anything other than looks.Oh ya,there is one early mission where you need a golf get up to go the golf course and do a hit.
I have no idea about furnishings.Havn't come across that yet.

I've completed it, and I've not acquired any furniture. Some things have changed at my main hideout, but nothing especially big.

Its one of the "Malibu Club" missions. You are organizing a bank heist and you need a driver. You have to beat this guy called Hillary in a totally outclassed car.Near impossible without.......

I didn't bother buying the Malibu Club. Too expensive. I'm sure I'll go back to do the missions sometime.

Now, do you understand my complaints about playing GTAIII?!

I finished all the missions in GTA3 except the final one. I formatted my HD. Should I reinstall GTA3 and play all the missions again? Is experiencing the final mission worth it?

lol..I am also playing GTA3 again. This time on PS2.I like it very much control wise.I'm just not handy with pc game controls most times.
YES.The last mission is great.Quite difficult as far as GTA goes.
I can't find a darn ice cream truck anywhere since the early mission with one.Its getting rather frustrating.
Overall I think 3 is more "polished" than VC but VC is very good..Cant wait for the next one.

In GTA3, a good way to find cars that aren't normally prevalent is to do firetruck missions. A car is chosen at random, you go and put the fire out and if it is the car you want, you can then grab it. If it isn't, then the next random car on fire just might be. Its a shame you can't get the dodo this way though.
