My first choice is Flexibility. We need to start exploring the seas.
My second choice is Secrets, as a prerequisite for Centauri Empathy and the Empath Guild.

doctrine loyalty. I think if we start establishing a good defense early on, we won't have too many problems with worms and such later on....or maybe i just like Doctrine: Loyalty.

Flexibility. Who knows what wonders await us beyond the sea?

IndAuto as first choice easily.
Gene Splicing as 2nd, becuase it lifts Nut restrictions (tying in well with Maniac's desire for every base to have at least one multi-nut square) and (in my eyes most importantly) it allows EcoEng (mineral restrictions lifted), and ultimately Environmental Economics - TREE FARMS!

I think the way we've been polling science advances is a little flawed.
IMHO, we should only have the one poll, and take the most popular two. Good choices are missing out, because people can't agree on whether it's a first or second choice.

I went for Flexibility and Splicing, as our good friend Morgan can be expected to go for automation without delay. We can then take that from him.
As for polling, I believe Darkness is saying we should all get one vote, and the two most popular choices are the primary and secondary.

IndAuto - gotta have those crawlers, and would love to beat out Morgan to the PTS.
Second choice would be Flex to start finding the neighbors, and to get some sea-formers working!

that's how i did it in the beginning, there's a problem with that. if 15 people vote for TechA, and it's not available, and we have to go with the next best choice, which only has oh, 4 votes, then we lose out. if everyone picks two, then we won't have that problem

upon further thought, this way doesn't really work. a lot of people wanted flexibility, but it didn't even make backup
next time, i'll do it the other way
