Our old thread can be found here.
Rules about exploits and bugs, based on PBEM tournament rules:
Multiple reloading of the game to try for different effects is forbidden. If a reload is necessary because of a game crash etc., an explanation should be posted to this thread.
Multiple drops or orbital insertions using the right-click menu is forbidden. So is airdropping from outside a base/airbase, or after having moved (except on a magtube) using the same method. Using the 'i' key when you want an airdrop means you will automatically comply with these restrictions.
Inserting Stockpile Energy into the build queue after a military unit is forbidden.
If a player employs a tactic that causes a state of vendetta, they are not allowed to "accept" a pending diplomatic agreement with that faction in the same turn, causing a change in diplomatic status or the transfer of energy or knowledge.
If an aggressive probe action (anything except infiltration) is used on a faction you have a truce, treaty or pact with, you must select 'Declare Vendetta' in the dialog box that appears afterwards, and notify the victim of your transgression, unless you have received permission in advance. No notification is required in other cases.
Upgrading units with the design workshop is allowed at end of turn only. However, supply crawlers upgraded in this fashion can still be used to advance Secret Projects in the same turn.
Communications only allowed between factions that have obtained each others' commlink frequencies in-game.
Psi units cannot be assigned multiple point patrol routes (avoid instant demon boil bug!)
Whenever the planetary council is called, the caller (or the first player to vote if the AI calls it) should post a notification to the thread, including vote totals (if applicable) and who has already voted for what. The other players should post how they vote.

And please, always post on this thread whenever you send turn to the next player. I have enough of PBeMs I have to wonder where the turn is and when I will obtain it.

plz change my email to thrarxx@hotmail.com, my other address seems to have problems with .zip attachments.
One turn a day is very optimistic, but it would be cool if we could get 3-4 per week .

Although it doesn't matter too much except for transmission time. How do players want to pass the turn, zipped or unzipped?

I'm not sure guys if you know how slow it will be. 1 turn per week woudn't be that unusual...
hmmm.....
Anyway, turn sent to Ksev the pious
I have strange starting location. Not even one unity pod i could see, but OTOH 4 bonus resources...

Next time that bloody Kirov forgets to logout his bloody self from my computer, i'm gonna kick his ass.
It was me, DarthMaur, of course, who posted previous message.

My, what a surprise. Doesn't bother me. I 'm just looking for a good multiplayer game. A chance to try all that stuff about popping and trawlers.
One advantage is that you guys are all, more or less in one place. Your turn rate though should be faster.

Depends what you mean by one place. We don't exactly live in one happy commune
Actually, i have no idea where Kirov lives. Once here, once there. Hard to tell.
And i was joking. We aren't allied (well, at least i and Zefir are not).
Yes, yes, i know i should have my turn done much earlier...

Please confirm you have sent your password to Tau Ceti. If we can speed the turns, it will be better for the game: 7 player games apparently are very slow.

Hey, I sent the turn. It'll say I reloaded it, but I don't particularly give a damn about that.

What was the turn number/ what was the year. So far there has only been one turn.

2102.sav. Yeah, it was right after I'd gone last turn. This save comes to me, and says my units had already moved. I was confused, so I just monkeyed around with it until I was able to move. As I said, it'll say I reloaded, but I'm not concerned about that. This game has been stalled for so long, I'm not going to stall it even further.

Yes the turn came to me alright with the reload message. No problem we're all learning.
Lets get the turn naming convention consistent. The turn should come to you with your game name or abbreviation in the name. when you save and exit the game will suggest the next player. Change the save file to the next players name at this point. For example :
The game is Sixth sense, save the game as six-herc-2xxx.sav if sending to me. I will send the game to kirov as six-kirov-2xxx.sav. (where 2xxx is the year) Because the first turn started with Mr Clever his turn will start with a new year.
Last point put Sixth Sense in the subject box so that the recipient will know what game the turn is from. Important when involved in several games at once.

no idea what might have been wrong with your turn. When the enter password screen popped up after i finished my turn, i hit save and exit.
There are only 2 files related to our game in my save directory (my 2101 turn and that one) so i am pretty sure i sent the right one.
I hope next round will be ok, otherwise i dunno.
