The EB site for the UK still lists the release date as 23rd November over here, which would make sense since a Firaxian said it would take 3 weeks for the game to be in Euro stores. Since they don't have to translate it for us I would have hoped it'd appear sooner, though.

Why pre-order? Nothing beats that feeling of going out to the mall, walking into the local PC merchant, spying the new box on display, picking up your copy.....
I'm strange about those kind of things.

That's true proletarian. I tend to agree with you, but sleeping in late and finding it waiting on the doormat when you go downstairs would be pretty awesome.

Hmmm... a Friday eh? If I get it Thursday, that's no problem. I'll have already taken my test in German, and I think I can skip civ in the morning since it's easy...

I just love the idea of being able to squeeze in one or two turns between my classes instead of reviewing notes for next class... b!tchin!!!~

I hope teh UK version will actually ship with a manual. Homm4 just shipped as a CD in a DVD case with an electronic one.
Anybody know if the UK version will come with dead tree or not ?

This may be a problem. I hear that it uses MS DirectPlay for it's net play. I don't think that works on a Mac.

This isn't directed personnally at Americans but it is just infuriating that the rest of the world always comes second. I really appreciate it when a company makes the effort to have a simultaneous release, thereby showing they value their international customers as much as the US ones. At least, you'd think the English-speaking nations would get it at the same time - what sort of localisation could be required? Civilization to Civilisation? Well, I'd live with the Z. OK, enough

Talk to that French company Infogrames. I hear they do the localization and handle all releases. I'm sure Firaxis would love for all localities to be supported ASAP. They'd get paid sooner.

Wooo-hooo! I just came home from school, opened the Internet, and at least! I really look forward to November, althought I guess it'll be a while before little Norway gets it... Oh, mighty Firaxis, when, oh, when?

Yea!
Just in time for my birthday!
It does seem odd that they can't (won't?) do a simultaneous English release in both US and Europe.

There's a lot more that has to go into transferring a game from one country to another, and they finished bug-fixing not too long ago, so it's not surprising it will take a bit more time to transfer from the US to eslewhere. Like WS said, that's Infogrames' territory, not Firaxis'.
