The civscen.exe file and civ.exe versions?

Where did you get this civscen.exe file? I only have the civ2.exe and civ2map.exe files.

Versions
Civ2 and Forgotten worlds add on seem to install it in the civ2 dir

Probably (though I'm not sure) the civscen.exe file is the old version, from before the add-on was installed.

That is right. When you install the update, the existing version of civ2 is renamed to civ2scen.

If you installed all updates up to FW (= Fantastic Worlds   ), you'll get the following files:
civ2.exe (FW)
civ2scen.exe (CiC)
civ2orig.exe (2.42, or less if you didn't install the patch for it)
