Turnchat is NOW! Saves are here.
Undernet, #civ3dem as usual.
Be there now! We may well discover the lost civs and make millions these turns, so be amongst the landing parties.
Starting save:

It's not gonna be boring anymore once we find the elusive Montezuma and his friends the other lost civs.

Can you at least give some Galley updates? I am stuck on a Mac right now and can't be there.

We are currently in the year 740 AD, still sailing into the unknown. We haven't moved the galley yet this turn, though I expect we will come across a border that streched into the sea.

I bet China found us first long ago. Their boats are sunk somewhere off the coast of Rome or something.

Proposed initial trade plan with China:
Phase one: WM, contact with the Indians and the Zulu and 14 gold for our WM.
Phase two: now that we have their WM and assuming that they have at least one shore city with a harbor, we have a sea route and can buy their furs for some yet unknown tech/map/lux deal.

A few possible trades
India: Education for 48gpt, 20g and WM. Zululand: Engineering for 5gpt, 32g and WM.
WOOHOO!!
We'll be able to buy some luxuries in exchange for techs next turn, I think. India and China have furs and Zululand has gems and I'm sure they'd just loooove to share some with us.

Just for the record, Rome is willing to pay 78g+3gpt+WM for our new WM (now with a lost continent included). The next time we mapwhore... things are gonna get WILD.

North of Zululand (or a long way west of the Greek island) would be my guess. It's the only reasonable place if you look at the map.

An update for all of those who are following via the forum: we've made craploads of money and we intend to buy furs and gems during 760 AD in exchange for techs. Yay us!!

Wow - operation "Broke Civs" working - we got a massive trade with India, cleaning both Indai and Zululand out of L and Lpt for one tech each. :b
Still no Japan though.
Details in the report.

Our glorious naval force is embarking on a mission to find Japan. In the mean time, MWIA laments as several cities stop celebrating 'We Love the President Day'. However, that is soon to change since we're buying two luxuries this turn, it seems.
Update: Rome has found Japan. They can see their cultural borders but they can't see any land yet, nor do they have contacts.
Also, printing press in two turns.

I keep missing turnchats. Oh well. Who thinks we should conquer the Zulu at some point?
Did I just say that? I must be turning into a Hawk...

Rome had a boat right next to Japan... and then didn't establish contact . We're dispatching one of ours ASAP, but we were counting on Rome making contact so we could trade for it (not ideal but it's the best we thought we could get), and that's really sorta weird, especially after the AI sent a ship on a beeline to the Japanese island and then proceeded to pass by. I guess we'll find out more as the turns progress and we continue to buy the Roman world map.
