In Marco Polo's time, the Japanese islands were referred to as Cipangu or something like that. Maybe we could name the Jap island something like Cipangu. Then again, in Polo's time they thought the islands were 1,500 miles away from China.
However, I like Zadjabaser.

Even in the late 1490s, there was a big confusion over how far it was from Spain to China.
The Protoguese knew exactly how far it was because they were traveling to it.
The Spanish thought that it was much further, and thought that Japan was also further from China than it was. (Two part error: They thought it was longer to Constananople than it really was and in addition thought it was longer from Constanopole to Bejing than it wreally was.) To top this off, they thought the world was about 1/4th smaller around than it really was. Christopher Columbus was expecting to find China several days, if not weeks before he entered the Caribean.
It was a very good thing for Columbus that there was a lost contientant. (North and South America) because if the Americas didn't exist and they continued west they would have straved before reaching China. (No ship nor combination of ships in 1492 could have carryed enough food for six months worth of food to the needed crew.)

Let's name the Japanese island "NIHON".
It starts with N and ends with N. And "Nihon" means Japan in Japanese. And it sounds exotic.

Nippon, not Nihon.
And I think we should name at least one of these new islands "Bob". (Of course, the Chinese-Indian continent, I'd prefer it be named Yingzhou, as I proposed.)

Nippon is fine but will not give a chance to make typos. What about Nipananapon or Nipadagascapon or Nipapolypon ?

Okay, if you want typos, I recommend:
Theislandconqueredbyapolytonsoonbutnottoosoongotta putalotofsamehandwordsinhereformaximumtypoabilitys otherecanbealotoftyposlikeforexampleqwertandyuiopd espitethefactthatthesearentreallywordsyeahitcouldb elongerinfactifyoubelievetherewillbeanywaytoincrea setypopercentagepleasereplyimmediatelytoletmeamend itwiththenewtyposthatyouhave
You'd need to cut & paste just to mention it! (Ack, I'm now toused to typingwithout spaces AGH!)
Really though, Zadagksra and Nipson.
(Zadagascar and Nippon are okey dokey.)

Japan Name Proposal #1 (rationales are in parentheses):
The Northern part is called Honshu (core of Japan)
The part below Izumo is called Kyushu or perhaps Shikoku (otehr island right by Honshu
The other island is called Hokkaido (separated, foresty island)
Japan Name Proposal #2: THe far Northern tundra area is called Hokkaido (Northernmost, tundra, Sapporo is there)
The area south of Hokkaido is called Honshu (core, SOuth of Hokkaido)
Teh area below Izumo is called Shikoku (Closer to Honshu than Kyushu)
The other island is called Kyushu (Southernmost)
How do they sound?

Zapdizazap is a great name for the continent! However, I think every word with 10 letters starting with a 'Z' should be a legal name for it...! That Zulu language is so difficult and imprecise...
In some West-European countries, 'Bob' is the name you give to a person who stays sober in the pub. "Do you want to drive home tonight?" - "Yes, I'll be the Bob today". Still like it, though.

Okay, if anyone has any different plans, please post:
Plan I
-------
Zulu Island: Zadagascar
China/India Continent: Corient
Japan Island: North Nippon, South Nippon
(This is what I agree with most, other people can post other plans and maybe soon we can vote on a couple plans that seem popular. I dunno.)

I agree with RB.
There must be something named Bob.
And maybe Graceland instead of Corient.
A Poll anyone?

YINGZHOU!!!
Call the three Lost Continents as a whole Graceland. What we call the other two Lost Continents, I don't really care (so long as we call one of 'em Bob-- thanks Ghengis )...
(FYI-- here's the thread where the name "Graceland" got thought up: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...86#post1231886 )
