We are technologically advanced!
Yep, open the current (820 ad) save -F6- and there is good old Sid saying the subject line!
And to think we did this with one lone scientist and zero % budgeted for research.
This clearly demonstrates the power of diplomacy and warfare.

It is nice to hear that we are keeping pace with the opposition.

Very good indeed. It was only not too long ago that we were scientifically challenged, but now we're in the best position in the game yet. Good to hear!

We have Military Tradition by 800AD. Now whilst others have done better in SP games, that is damn fantastic.
Are we ahead of where the CF group was?

having the sliders set like that gave me a whole new way to play... perhaps I overestimated the AI's ability to comprehend the value of a tech lead. Got stuck in a paradigm when just trying something completely ridiculous would have turned out to be the most sane way to handle things

I'm doing almost the same thing in my own single player game on the Emperor level.
10% research, which apprently = 1 science beaker.
I'm not sure what Fireaxis was thinking when the placed a max limit of 40 on researching anything.
In the interest of game balancing between humans and AI, it should probably be changed to:
Regent and below : 40
Monarch : 60
Emperor : 100
Deity : 200
I'd also sugest that if the AI is going to cheat by knowing the positions of all military units on its version of the world map that it do so intelgently. It currently does it so badly that the AI is making worse moves during wars with it's units than it would if it had fog of war.
It should also "pick a fight" more intelgently:
1. Don't declare war on somebody that's it's impossible for you to get to during the ancient era and middle ages due to risk of sinking.
2. If your currently on the receiveing GPT from someone as a result of selling them a tech, you should wait for the deal to expire before declaring war with them because otherwise you've given them a tech at grealy reduced price.
