War Report From Prince Donegeal
These frogs are proving much like the Americans. They don't stand a chance against us but somebody forgot to tell them. Maybe it was their tenacity or maybe it was the hope of my divison of Knights to be trained as Mounted Musketmen that caused a distraction, but our initial charge was thrown back.
To the left and right of me, I saw horse after horse go down. The damn frogs were going after our horses in the hopes of making us spearmen again to kill with their pikes. Their iron is strong and their stragety sound. Highly unexpected from a race such as the French. They caught us off guard and sent us off in retreat. However, our charge may not have broken the frogs at Rheims, but it did bend their Iron. They stood no chance against SMC Aggie's new plan of attack once he heard to their stragety. The city fell to the next two waves of attack.
SMC Aggie's pace for the war quickend so the French would remain off balance and be unable to react to our new tactics against their stragety. Lyons fell to us with nary a lost soul. So much for holding the high ground. Beascon and Amiens will fall soon and the discussion about what to do with Joan of Arc at that point will comence.
I hope that the French try to adapt to SMC new tactics. They will find they whatever they come up with will be useless against our new Mounted Musketeer units, or Cavelry as I have heard them called. It seems my time as First Knight is comming to a close. No longer will that title hold anymore than honor.
Press forward troops! For the Glory of the Banana and of the Empire!
With Honor,
Prince Donegeal of Piña Colada, First Knight of Apolytonia

I must report that Amiens has fallen and Besancon is defended only by a badly injured contingent of Swordsmen, racked with fever from their escape across the mountains when Lyons was brought into our enlightened nation.
donegeal - you lead our troops into battle at their head, and despite your humiliating defeat and withdrawal ( ), I am sure that your example has inspired all to their achievements.
The troops already have taken this to heart - the phrase "donegeal courage" has become common parlance for when a soldier charges in to a challenge with incredible and spirit-stirring enthusiasm - especially when their success is less than what was hoped for.
( sorry donegeal - I couldn't help it.... Forgive me? I'll give you another regiment... Cavalry this time.... )

you could always go with the 'First Mounted Musketman of Apolytonia'

This one's for donegeal:
Once their horses had been unsaddled and fed, the men gathered around campfires in the hills outside the beseiged city. Mountains loomed above them. It was rugged terrain, hardly fit for riding, and a grim backdrop for Apolyton's latest round of war. But the men were battlehardened. The city was already broken -- they sensed it. A few French swordsmen waited to meet them tomorrow, most of them mere boys and old graybeards. CIV-ilians were fleeing the city, refugees melting into the mountains.
After eating, the men cleaned their firearms, the new weapons that had made them devastating in war, the terror of the French. The experts among them, those who had most quickly learned the difficult skill of shooting from horseback, swaggered among the campfires, comparing stories, boasting of their kills.
Still, a respectful silence spread when the knights made their way to the fires. They were older, truly skilled -- figures of mystery and honor. Tomorrow, when the army marshaled before the city for the final charge, these men would be given first place among the ranks.

Not its not, people are still called by outdated titles. You can be 1st knight of Apolytonia commanding the 1st cavalry division when it is all tanks.

Uh, Calvary can't be upgraded to tanks.
The first unit of Tanks will be the 1st Armored Brigade.
A stack of them would be the X Armored Division.

True, light tanks are still titled as cavalry occasionally. Funny, but I suppose also important to remember. Cavalry was a huge part of military might back in the day.
I believe the first armored units are slated for the S.S. 1st Brigade....

The weirder thing is that Calvary were used during the Afghan campaign.
