What are the formations of the first four?
Are they simply in order as to what it says in the screenshot?

the name of the formation is the first bolded title on the pop-up help
e.g. the 1st is Line, the 2nd is Refused, etc

Markos, I know your in a diplomacy game, but have you used the line feature in battle yet? Does it play a crucial role? Is it important to micromanage battle or can I simply send my troops off to fight war while I worry about other things?

with various types of units being better or worse against other types then formation does play a role

it depends on the resources that you have to spend
what i have found perhaps more important is to have a couple(keep this ammount when they are over) of supply wagons with your units to ensure that they are healing while staying in battle(attrition in enemy area can be important)
as for doing other things while in battle, you can alway pause, give research/build orders back home, and return to the war front

Thanks Mark. The formations should be fun, especially with large assaults. I wonder how well the AI will pick formations?

Markos,
Details on how attrition works? How much do supply units cost? How much does it impact each early game battle? Late game battles?

well we kind of have this site covering strategy games for four years now. and we've been covering bhg from day 1 of their existanse, so we're kind of considered a "member of the press", and these are, well, press review copies

And not only that, but a site that with infrastructure it already has is poised to be one of the top three sites devoted to RoN.

Thanks Markos. And as for the comment about ACS' relationship to other sites, I was mearly saying that the game is not out yet and you never know where the editors and stuff will end up going (ex. other RTS only sites) that they are already used to. So, while ACS will benefit from being the first supporter of RoN, it depends on things that TBSers might not be able to control.

Personal View: Regardless of “ranking,” ACS occupies a special, and I’d even say elite place in the larger RoN community as it approaches the game from a rooted TBS perspective.

back to topic, do units hold formations when they move. Cause in EE, when units moved , they got out of formation which didn' look cool.

Yah! Same opinion here. I got Empire Earth too(I think that is the game the person before me was talking about) AND IT REALLY GETS ANNOYING AND SUCKS BECAUSE YOUR MEN CAN DIE BY YOUR OWN tank fire.mortor shells and stuff. When they get out of formation.
