golden age and mobilization
Do the shield bonuses from golden age come on top of those which come from a wartime mobilization? I'm playing as the germans and at war with rome and about to get panzers. my military is also pretty weak right now as I was waiting for panzers to really start building up for the late game push. anyhow, I have MPP with eqypt who shares a HUGE border with me and they just HAD to get into it with rome. So anyway, I was going to mobilze to build up at the very least a decent defensive force but if I do that and get panzers and trigger golden age before peace, I don't want to lose the shields. so who's got the golden answer for me?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they should add up. It would be pretty stupid if they didn't , IMO.

what exactely happens when you turn to mobillisation, does it only mean that every tile being worked getting one more shield or is there more to it? And what are the negative sides of mobillisation (which tech do I need?) I have never tried it before.

Golden age with mobilisation and railroads rock hard! I've done it a few times and it works. The extra shields for mobilisation only apply for military units, V.O.C.

The downside is of course that you can build units and military impprovements only.

For warfare....perfect

Yeah, they add up, and you can have an incredible army, but IMO, it's a big shame to be unable to get infrastructure during the Golden Age!
