Mass Regecide PBEM
Anyone interested in a quick hitting, six civs on a small map Mass Regicide game?
Everything else would be random.
And of course I'm open to suggestions...
Game Settings and Players
In order of play:
Buster13 - Iriquois
Aebbeka - French
KingSponge - English
Dominae - Indians
Normlguy19 - Persians
Small map, Mass Regicide, No AI, Random Map Settings, Random Barbarian Settings, Dinobarbs.
Difficulty set to Regent for corruption, etc...
This game is closed

I just got the game this morning, so I'll play. But first, what is a Mass Regicide game?

Mass Regicide is like chess with multiple kings. You get three king units to protect. If you lose all three, you're out of the game. To spice things up early, you make it a small map, so defence becomes important. I'm hoping to get 6 players so it's nice and cozy.
I think we should all play a random civ, or alternately a random civ that has an early UU. But that would involve someone doing the picking outside of the game...so that involves a bit of trust.
Suggestions?

Random civs sound fine to me. Sounds fun. Can't wait to get started!

Well it would be hard to get people to commit to more than one, especially late in the game. A more realistic expectation would be that you get one day max with the save game.
To speed it up, we'll be playing on a small board with lots of civs, so it will be fast paced.
If we can all agree on it, we can pick a time to handle the first twenty moves or so, since much of that time is watching your worker dig. That way we can kick start the game.
Oh yeah, are your email addresses posted? We'll need them, obviously.

OKay, sounds good. I suppose I can handle ONE more PBEM. EMail is paul_soares@yahoo.com
A "kick start" session is a good idea. I'm usually available Sunday-Thursday night after 9:00PM EST.

Heh, I already do anyway and Yahoo's SPAM filter gets about 99% of it. The ones that sneak past I add to the filter myself.
Besides, the more advanced bots parse the "no_spam" out anyway. So I usually do something like:
paul_soares@nospam.com
[Replace nospam with yahoo]
but I'm usually too lazy!

Say, how's about we get this thing started...unless you think we can get more players...
Maybe 3 humans and 3 AIs?
It would be unfortunate to have AI, but eventually it would come down to us...

Great, you're in. I'm just waiting for a reply as to a preferred starting time and we're off!
If we have four people, I might leave it at that without the two AI, unless you want them in. IMHO, if we have AI in the game, there should be one for each human to exploit, otherwise it's not fair.
I would still like to have six, though. I've edited the first post to list game participants and the rules settings.

Also,
Everybody has PTW with the 1.04 patch, right?
What does anyone think about Dinosaur barbarians?
Does anyone have another rules modification request before we begin?
Buster13
p.s., email me via convenient link with your email addresses so I have a list.
The order of the turns will be in the order of joiners, if that's ok with you...

I would like to do a kick start night Tuesday night or Thursday night. I'm waiting on a reply from Aebbeka.
I'm toying with the idea of using the Dinosaurs provided with the mod just to make it more interesting...and keep people from using thier kings as scouts, since they move pretty quick.
 Looking forward to this game!!!!

Hm, Wednesday is probably the best night for me to do a kick start; I won't be around the whole evening on Tuesday or Thursday.

You know, maybe Aebbeka is playing in Jack_www's game, does anyone want to ask if we have another joiner?
Or do you just want to do three human, three AI?

How late exactly will we be playing? I won't be able to play after 10 PM central cause I have to get up early in the morning.
If we start at 8, two hours should be plenty to get a good start, right?
Also, Buster, you have a fast internet connection right? That seems to be required for hosts in PTW from what i've seen.

You don't need a fast internet connection for PBEM. I do have access to a T1 at my office, but I'd have to arrange to stay here late that night.
Ok, then. So 9 eastern time or 8 central. We'll play for two hours.
By the by, I havent' tried changing the "type" of multiplayer game after the scenario was started. I'll give it a go, but I can't gaurantee anything. We may have to start with a PBEM game, which means we'll just have to shuttle the file around.
That is of course unless somebody knows how to re-enter to settings screen after the game is launched...

I don't think you can change the game type...not sure. What it looks like others are doing is pure PBEM game, sitting online, watching your Inbox and waiting for your next turn. 2 hours should give us a nice start.

That's what I'm thinking. So we are all agreed then? Wednesday night, 9pm EST, 8pm CST. We'll play for two hours or so.
Dominae, I still need your email address, when you get a chance. I'll distribute the final list, since you can't send messages within the game, all haggling will have to done via email and the final agreement made real in the game once negotiations are complete.
So I guess we're off then!
