To civman2000,
For God's bloody sake it was just a joke, jeez, you're allowed to go insane and declare war on the English for no good reason and I'm not allowed to have one little joke, Huh?
Well I will make you pay.

OOC you'll get the economic numbers tommorrow morning, don't worry... just got back home and it is 330am, so i am going to bed....
easthaven, Fox Regiments are not super fast and the forces around London won't be surprised, they
ll be expecting...and they will have Knights and so on to match speed with the Foxes. Can blitzkrieg Newcastle, but doesn't mean it will work for the rest. as they will be expected.
Harrington is a repubican, individualistic and unconventional. really good at her job...

OOC: ok ok I get your point. Anyways, Fox Regiments aren't 'super' fast but they are faster than Knights, thats why I made them. Less armor and bulkyness means more speed and agility, more armor means more weight and more bulkyness which means slower dude and not very agile kind of guy. Therefore, Fox Riders are faster and more agile than knights, meaning if one Fox would race a knight the Fox Rider would leave the knight in the dust.
Ok ok I surrender to the blitz thing, Newcastle we can catch by surprise maybe, but York and Warwick will probably be ready for us by the time we get there. Yes ma'am.*salutes*

The Moderator stared at Apep. "I am not my brother," she said coldly.
"Your, Highness, I--"
"GET OUT!"
"But--"
"GUARDS!"
Apep left protesting, and three guards quickly came to escort him from the palace.

Not to mention that all the Cognac raiders use is a shield, and a wepon (either Arch, Sword or Musket)
So they are extremely fast... but if they attack an army will take many casualities.. that's why they only are good at pillaging and doing suprise attacks , they are like a group of thieves... no more no less, but they work for the army
-------------------
From: Colonel Giovanni Vodka
To: Major of the 21st Regiment
I will speak with Field Marshall Thunderfire, and see if he thinks it might be a good idea.
From: Colonel Giovanni Vodka
To: Field Marshall Mark Thunderfire
The Major of the 21st told me that the men are ready to go to the front.
Therefore I forwarded their request to you.
But if we send the 21st down, than also the 17th will have to, so that I can take care of both of them.
-----------------
Cognac
In the night, the 5000 Cognac raiders sneaked through the mountains.
"Remember" said Cognac "The English won't be so unprepared this time, they'll be much more on the alert after the Newcastle raids"
The Cognac raiders finally arrived on the english plains, just south the mountains. (in between Warwick and York)
"ok guys" said Cognac "we all now what we must do.. so let's just do it"
"ok Gio" said the raiders
Between Giovanni Cognac there was much more something like a friendship relationship, and that was the real strenght of the Cognac raiders.
The group splitted, and a big mass of raiders, was moving everywhere around the field, they destroy the crops, burn the houses down, burn stables evrything that came to their sight was either destroyed, burned or stolen.
The country in there was a real hell, fire was everywhere, people was running whereever they could to escape the fire.
But after a few hours a shower of arrow was raining on the Raiders, and the civilians that were captured from them
"WHAT They are already here!!!" Shouted Cognac "AWAYYYY"
The Cognac Raiders soon begin to run as fast as they could, a few english tried to follow them, but soon enough they lost them
the Raiders went away at the same speed the arrived, leaving behind them nothing but fire and destruction.
Report from: Colonel Giovanni Cognac
to: Field Marshall Easthaven
Our raids was a success, we destroyed and burned everything that is just south of the Mountains, stole a lot of grains, captured 23 English civilians, which we can use for slavery, and we tried to reduce civilian casualities to the minimum, although probably the fire have killed some of them.
the English response was ready and fast, in little less than 2 hours they were already attacking us, thi means that there are probably a few english encampment in the vicinity.

To all Advisors and the Great Moderator:
I will be going to America and visit the troops at the front and talk with my Generals in the field. Thus I will be gone for at least a month. If you have any problems needed to take care of, my second in command will stay behind and handle things while I am away.

To Colonel Cognac:
Well done Colonel, great job. Anyways, I need you to go back now. I want your men to sneak into the forests of York and Warwick (the woods in between the cities), under the cover of darkness would be best. There you will wait, you will camouflage yourselves to be part of that forest, hide in the caves cover youselves in mud, leaves, and branches, become an extension of that forest and know every tree and crevice in it. When the english armies pass through that forest I want you to sneak attack them, surround them and after a barrage from your muskets charge them from all sides with your swords held high hewing off their heads. Your appearance alone will hamper their reaction time. Confuse them by attacking from all angles and screaming your war cries. Have a few men in trees sharpshooting them with arrows and muskets.
Of course if its big army don't attack the whole army, isolate a group. Divide and Conquer, my friend, divide and conquer. Its a very large forest you should be able to do so.
And for spending some time there beforehand you should know all the secret places to retreat to if you get into trouble. Study that forest, setup choke points and traps, I believe you will do a good job.
Take the necessary foods and supplies, hunt in the forest with arrows if you must, but not muskets(muskets are too loud, save them for the battles).
Good Luck, Colonel.
-Field Marshall Easthaven I

Your family, friends, and fellow citizens will die! This is a promise! This has nothing to do with your GAME!

It may take years but I will destroy all you hold dear. Remember this.

To Giovanni Vodka:
These troops aren't needed right now. They are in reserve but if reinforcements are needed, your regiments will be among the first.
But now, you need to study Naval warfare. That's an order, don't ask any question about it.
A friend, an admiral will give you lessons. Meanwhile you will continue to command these regiments.
Also, train them in amphibious landing.
OOC: if you want explanation, I will be on msn/or Apolyton chat.
Also when will the invasion start?

Chief of Staff as finally written up the constitution, which included how the governments will be work, and the rights and freedoms of the people at the end of the convention.
Some silly people suggested to add the right to be armed in the constitutions, like the americans. She was like, hmmm, no followed by a long lecture and prediction of the consequences of that, using some past circumstances in America for examples. Apolyton would be a terrifying place if eeveryone had guns.
Another big subject was wether to have mandatory military service or not, how long it should be and wether or not that includes just men or females as well. People decided mandotary two years of military services for both males and females, while making sure to define military service which isn't just garrisoning or going off to war. They can do their service anytime between 18 and 30 years of age, as long as they do it. At the end of two years, they may chose to retire or continue with the military. This should please the military commanders.
There was also the discussion of religion, which Apep unfortunatly attended the convention for about making it mandotary for people to go to church and so on. Despite what Apep as to say, constitution will say that people can believe what they want, as long as they don't discriminate others for what they believe.
Another part gives rights, freedoms and respect (shouldn't be discriminated) to EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING in Apolyton, no matter who they are and the way they are, unless they are a criminal or a prisoner...who usually are used for hard labour. Hey, may as well make them productive then just sitting in their prison cells.
Rest was lesser stuff, justice code, death penalty (only for murderers, rapists, molesters and other disgusting people), property ownership, marriage (marry whoever you want...apolyton as a high population rate, so gender doesn't matter), post rate in the sub-forums, and so on.
She just glad it is done and that the people atleast the ones that attended the convention, are happy with it. It is to be signed by the moderator, chief of staff, advisors, some military commanders, some Governors and some head citizens who attended the convention at the end of the war.
NOW, she can go back to Apolyton and continue her duties until then...

OOC: Uh, the Convention ended a few months ago...And I might not be willing to sign to some of the stuff, i'd have to see the specifics. Just because you want to stop talking about the constitution doesn't give you the right to say that there was one that everyone signed without those people actually approving of it.

OOC: do you seriously want to go through every single detail of the constitution? we can if you wish, but why slow down the story with it?
I know it ended a few months ago...just saying that taking all of the suggestions and agreements from the convention, she finally done a proper draft, constitution form. May as well keep my character busy while the story lags a bit. ALso didn't say anyone signed it, just said it was ready to be signed...which still leaves room to and time to change...depending how long the war lasts.
Also, if people as any problems, suggestions, comments and so on, PLEASE tell me. this is a cooperative story, so we should communicate. That is why i created the discussion thread.... so please keep OOC only there... i know i do that to, but we should stop doing that
Edit: also, which parts i mentioned which the Moderator doesn't agree with anyway?
do keep in mind, this isn't completly base on my personal views, also put things i would protest to in real life, for the sake of the story and keeping in mind that it is Late-Medieval and the FIRST Republic of Apolyton.

To Chief of Staff Melian
As the Trade and Economic Advisor, I wish to complain, on behalf of the landed atrocracy (sp?) and the Merchants. The right to Freedom will seriously impact on the economy, as well as impact the loyalty of the wealthy landholders. Our nation (like most medieval monarchies) is based of the Serf system, where a serf is sold to an indervidual to work for them. By removing the right of the landholders to own serfs, the price of labour will rise, and we will loose our advantage in the production of various agricultural goods.
I strongly oppose this, (esp. since modern human rights did not come around intill the begining of the industrial revolution), however, if the Moderator agrees to this term, I will offer no more resistance.

(i know that this in not correct date, but I am writing about when my character first arrives to the front lines)
The Advisor of the Millitary, Field Marshall Jack_www, came to visit his troops on the front lines as they have begun the Invasion of England. The men were glad to see their commander in the field. He went to the barracks of the troops near the English forts and near Newcastle were the Apolyton army made its first victory on English soil. He also talked with the General who have been leading the men into battle, seeing what they needed to fight better in the feild and took their ideas about the invasion of England.

Look at the Americans, their economy is still strong despite being Republic and despite requirering their merchants to treat their workers a lot better then simply things whom they have to hire then buy. During visits to america in the past, they adapted to the new situation quite quickly, seing the advantages of the new system. (also to note, worker unions and so on doesn't exist yet too...human rights be damned still with most merchants).
So if they have further complaints, just tell them to look at the Americans, or even Greece and France on how they survive and still profit under a Republic.
Mellian
Chief of Staff
OOC:
again, this is alternate earth with alternate history...which is one of the great wonders of civ3, allowing the player to rewrite history.
also note that the americans in this story declared independence from England in mid-medieval...being the second Republic in existence in the world of apolyton.... and the first republic/democracy since Ancient and so on in real life. in this story, sharing the same landmass and where england isn't an island, the reasons for independence may be different, yet similar, to real lifes ones.
Apolyton will be the fourth republic in the world....or simply the first constitutional monarchy.

Due to a series of minor disagreements about miscellaneous topics, culminating with one small issue having to do with the republic, Moderator Manvolewa has demoted Mellian from Chief of Staff to Foreign Advisor. She is looking for a new chief of staff.

Giovanni Cognac was hiding in the forest deep inside the English territories already since two months, waiting for the right moment to attack.
He and his men were waiting and waiting, they were living of hunting and of the few fruits the forest offered them, and sometimes they were stealing crops and cattles from the neighboring farms... but something was not going right... the ecpected Apolytonian attack was not coming... and the English were new getting a lot of reinforcements from Germany, Spain and France... and it looked like since Apolyton was not attacking, they were going to attack them.
"Kevin come here" said Giovanni Cognac
"we need to inform Field Marshall Easthaven about the recent moves of the english, this army build up the done is worrieng very much, and I would like to know the reasoning for this big delay"
Kevin said yes, and together with a few hundred men he galoped back to America to speak with Easthaven
After a few days of travel they finally reached the Apolyton camp, the number of soldier in there were increased considerably, but none of them probably ever met an english soldier.
as Kevin founded Field Marshall Easthaven, he started:
"Colonel Cognac would like to know what happened that delayed the attack for so long, and would also like to inform you that te english are arming up, and looks that an invasion force may enter in America through the Western side of the mountains, the fortified one"

To Colonel Cognac(top secret):
I have heard many good things about you and your men. Right now I am near the front lines visting the troops and going over the plans. I see that our troops have not been moving for a while. We are planing a major offensive in England to finally cut off the English forts in the area. I have read your latetest report to Field Marshall Easthaven. You may wonder why I did this, well if your reports are true, then we must act right away, or it could mean that we will lose the war. If what you say is true. we can use this to our advantage. If you can confirm that the English will attack out fort going through the Mountains were there two main forts are located, that would be great.
This is the plan I have in mind, and do not tell anyone of this plan. Once the English troops enter the mountain region, a force of fox riders followed by musket men and cannons will attack Warwic and then Coventry. What I would like you and your men to do is to leak fake plans to the English. I want them to think that we are pulling out a large portion of our force in the fort along the English border and the fort will not recieve more troops for about a month. You must really make it believable for the English, other wise they will see right through it and know it is a trap. Also I want to see if you and your men can also prevent any riders from escaping from Warwic and Conventry while we are attacking, so the English will still think that we are not attacking. I wish you and your men the best of luck in your mission.

OOC: ummm, we started attacking the english during the civil war, just not full force...mainly skirmishs and raids....and cognac wasn't there just yet.
be careful with going back in time and write more stuff...may end up contradicting something that already happened or whatever, like now.
June 1401
Mellian was quite stunned when the Moderator flatly and instantly demoted her at her face, after some minor disagreement concerning the latest draft of the constitution. That b**ch! after all the things she done for the moderator and keeping the government together... This is why we need a Republic and an elected leader so we don't continue with the stupidities of the civman line...
Anyway, in a way, she is happy to be back as foreign advisor. Oh well, lot simpler and it is what she does best. Xenodemus was dissapointed of being demoted as well, but seriously didn't let it get to him. While keeping the foreign relations and Apolyton Alliance in check, she will start working in establish a new espionage service, with secret help from the american CIA and the republic movement.
She wonders how the war is going, as she haven't heard anything from the Commander of the Army or from the Military Advisor... (OOC: hint hint)

Latentus couldn’t help grinning as he looked around his new office. Amazing! Who would have thought that that little practical joke last month had gotten him all the way to the position of domestic advisor? Him, a provincial who had learned to read and write and cipher as a lark. And that interviewer had believed all that nonsense he had made up! Well, Latentus was always good at B.S.ing people. But he had never expected it to lead to this. He still wasn’t certain himself that this wasn’t some elaborate joke being played on him. But then the paperwork he had to do arrived, and all doubt of where he was disappeared and plenty of doubt about what he had gotten himself into manifested itself. Ah well. It was certainly going to be interesting.

Current State of the English War as of June 1, 1401
---------------------------TOP SECRET------------------------
For the Eyes of the Moderator and Field Marshall Jack_www, Easthaven, and Thunderfire
So far we have taken the city of Newcastle from the English. Our forces are now 30 miles from the city of Warwic, and have encountered heavy resistance in that area, thus the slow progress of our troops. We accept to make a break out with in the next 3 weeks.
We have recieved reports that the English themselves will mount an offensive to take out out main fort in the Mountains along the American-English border. The plan that is now in place will try and make the English believe that the fort will only have a small force in it, when in reality it will be fully maned. Thus when the English take the bait and try and attack the fort, our forces will come from behind and out flank the English army. Our forces will completely surround the the English army and cut all of their supply lines. If this plan succeeds, it will give us a major victory against the English, and may lead to the end of the war. I urge all who are reading this to keep this plan a secret.

May 30th 1401 (you posted while i posted)
Cognac's messenger had just arrived and delivered the news. Field Marshall Easthaven was somewhat alarmed but didn't show it. He was on his black horse armed with two musket rifles attached to his saddle and a longsword at his side. He was organizing the Fox Riders for the 1st wave of the attack as well as getting the infantry in order behind them. A small skirmish had already taken place easterward, Apolytonians had taken a fort. Field Marshall Easthaven was leading the charge of his Fox Riders straight towards Newcastle but now he was thinking of going with the strike force that was going to attack Warwick. He pondered this new information for a few seconds.
"Ok Sergeant, hurry back to Cognac now. Tell him to sneak a force to the bridges south of Warwick and tell him to destroy them. This will force any retreaters to go around the harsh river to Coventry where we will be right on their trail. He only needs a small force for this mission, after they destroy them they must be sure no english folk attempt to cross the river by other means to deliver the message to London. Second, Tell him to lead the rest of his men to the western side of Newcastle and prevent any english citizens or military from escaping through that side of Newcastle, also delay any reinforcements that might come from that side as well. Now hurry rider, deliver that message in haste!" The Cognac Raider regained his strength and rode off back to Cognac, his men followed.
He turned to his army, all patiently waiting for his order. Most were double checking their equipment and making sure their muskets were loaded, some were saying prayers to their God, others were just staring blankly trying to get into their warrior spirits, aching for revenge upon the invaders who dared try to take Apolyton. All were bloodthirsty and anxious to follow their leader into battle and fight by his side.
=====
Hours past by. It was a full moon (this day picked intentionally), morning was drawing near. Easthaven was about to order the march, he planned it perfectly, they would march in the night cloaked in darkness with just the moon shine to guide them and when they were but miles away from Newcastle the cannons were to begin firing their barrages into the city and the Fox Riders would race through the plains muskets held high. They would reach the city by the time the cannons fired their last thunderstrike.
He galloped to a small termite hill and gave a small kick to his horse to get it to climb the knoll. He was now overlooking his grand army, months being worked on it, preparing all of his soldiers for the invasion, for the vengeance. Now it was time to speak to his men.
"Men and women of Apolytonia. Defenders of The Rock. My comrades in arms. Today is the day we meet our enemies musket to musket... steel to steel... face to face. Today is the day the war truely begins for England, for we will fight on their streets, among their homes and in their fields. We are in for a bloody campaign... whether it will be short or lengthy I can not tell, for the fight is what it is and will be what it wants itself to be. We can only be sure to adapt to its constant changes and try to survive.
Many of us will die...yes...but with honor and admiration. Our children will remember our generation for centuries to come. The generation that fought with courage and tenacity against the evil enemy of Apolytonia. The generation that kicked the would be invaders out of Apolyton... the generation that were countlessly called upon to wage war in the defense of the future well being of our nation!
Today is one of those times. We march onto Newcastle! I shall fight beside you! Together we shall be victorius! Or we shall perish while delivering vengeance to the enemy and souls to the devil! We all will be given a rightful place in the heavens! Thus, do not fear death my comrades! We do not have the power to alter our fate, you only have the power to make Death bloody proud to take you! On to England, Apolytonia! On to justice!" As he exclaimed the last words his stallione rose to its hind legs and the General held his longsword high above his ahead.
The ranks upon ranks of his grand army all rose their swords in response and cheered as their blood boiled with the warrior spirit. Easthaven turned his horse in the direction of England and pointed his sword towards Newcastle as he raced down the hill, his men immediatly followed. It was a grand sight to see. The moonlight was shining off their armor making it seem as though light itself was seeping down the mountains through the darkness when in reality it was thousands upon thousands of warriors racing down the mountains of America, all anxious to see the spilt blood of their enemy.

Apep II was surprised to say the least when news reached him of what his father, Apep had done in the capital. He thought of sending him to the front lines, or some sort of missioary service on an unihabited island somewhere, but thought better of it, eventually he decided to send a letter to the moderator to appoligise on behalf of his father,
To HRH the Moderator,
I would like to apoligise on behalf of my father Apep, he is very old and should be sent to some sort of home, thing is we don't have the money. Do you think you could found a free one, or have him put down?
I would also like to request some sort of job, to amend myself to you (And to make sure my dad stops talking to that dam emu)
Apep II of Porkton (Could you also consider changing the name of the hamlet of porkton?)
(OOC(Out of Character): Sorry for getting angry and all, Its just I'm new here and wanted to have a bit of fun and I felt really bad when civman2000 (Or whoever I should refer to him/her as) told me to bug-ger off)

Liam Sheep after having his hideout blown up to smithereens has relocated to an unkown region of the world to conitue his war against the corrupt government in Apolyton.
There was an assaination attept against Chief of Staff Melian and the famous COlonel Cognac. Cognac, had been hit by the bullet, but Sheep has yet found out if he will survive. Melian escaped the blast of Gunpowder at her headqauters, as she was out of the office at the time. However 100 dedicated staff and scribes of the Chief persished.
That is all
FOR THE REVOLUTION!!!!

OOC:
OKAY, as gamemaster, i declare SHeep's last post to be ignored, mainly because it doesn't make sense and very unachievable. Sheep as one more chance and if he botches it, he will be ban from this story.
Apep, its okay and remember, civman2000 responded story wise, so wasn't really outside the story bugger off. Humour is allowed, but one shouldn't go overboard or be to silly. Yes the moderator did stupid things, but they are the moderator and the rest of us adapted it...treating the moderator insane ...like civman2000 treated the first Apep as insane and crazy.
anyway, welcome to the story would of said something earlier, but civman beat me to it and decided to see what happens, lol

The Aztecs and Zulus as inform us that they will begin attacking Manchester at the end of the month. They will try to make it seem like it was a beachhead invasion.

--------------------
To Military Advisor:
Requesting commanding of an army group on the front.
To Trade Advisor:
As war has started, it would be better to increase defense budget.
To Domestic Advisor:
Army needs more fox riders, cannons and musket men.
To Scientific Advisor:
Our army needs better guns especially light muskets.
