PTW with Civ3
If you play one of your Civ3 scenarios or use a civ3 map (Marla's) which is possible, does the PTW units, changes etc. get incorporated into the civ3 scenario or map.?Or are you just playing Civ3 over again without any of the PTW ideas included. The boot up is with PTW.

It depends. I know that's a lame answer but it really does. If it has no custom rules then it should work. If it has custom rules, you may need to do a little work to get it right.

Custom rules
I remade Marla's map with changes to the map and units I assume they will still be there but was wondering if any of the PTW changes such as units or civs will be incorporated?

Do a search for "Partial Name: Firaxis" to cover yesterday (10/31). He has a post indicating to open it up in the PtW Editor. When it saves, it saves as a .BIX file (you may want to SAVE AS so it saves with the .BIX extension.

Read Mike B.'s post to get the whole story.

civ3-ptw
I don't think that is what I ment. I was wondering when you open up PTW and played a civ3 scenario made prior to PTW (it seems they cary forward all scenarios and maps made under civ3) do these scenarios and/or maps if used under PTW have the PTW units, civs rule changes incorporated in the civ3 scenario's? I do not want to boot up PTW and play a civ3 scenario with only the same civ3 items and rules that were in effect at the time the scenario was made.

roalan,
I was referring to the thread:
Civ3-Play the World>Mike B. Firaxis: Transferring Mods?

If that is the thread you looked at, then try reading the whole thread. ColdFever's post looks relevant.

That's as much as I know. If you don't trust the procedure, then create a test vehicle so that you will know immediately whether you were successful or not, without having to play through half the game.
