Havent picked PTW up yet, but..
I was just wondering if it played a sound when it was your turn? Say you are doing a turn-based game, and while you are waiting for your opponent to move you are browsing the web or whatever. Does the game let you know its your turn?

Nope, it doesn't. Unless you have a tendency to nod off during the AI's turn, which is entirely possible later in the game when it can take the AI several minutes to complete a move, you don't really need one.
I don't know if that also applies to MP because I haven't tried it yet. However, a sound announcing that it was your turn would be useful, especially if you're playing some slow poke, like me, who takes forever to amke up his mind.

On the MP LAN game I play, there is a sound when it's my turn ... Sounds like a quick drum roll, but it's not that loud unless to turn your volume up.

hehe...my PC specs are okay (Athlon XP 2000, 512MB DDR Ram, etc).
However, you may recall that in Civ3, when playing a game on a huge map (256x256) with 16 civs, the AI took an eternity to complete its moves after the industrial age. I haven't gotten that far yet with PTW installed, but I just assumed that it would be more of the same.
