WW2 Scenario?
Just a quick query-
Is there a WW2 Scenario in PTW or do you have to make it with the new units?
Also if the max human players in PTW is 8, does that mean you can put more AI players on top of them and get 16 players in total?

It's 8 Players human or AI. You can have 8 human players, but you can't have any more than 8 players regardless.

well like trips Civil War scenario wouldn't be bad for MP cause it would be 1v1 and you could just jump right in the fighting.

There's no WWII scenario packaged with PTW as far as I know.
However, I might be working on one...
I wouldn't recommend my Civil War scenario for MP right now... waaay too many units to meddle with. I might upgrade the scenario to PTW, but I don't like it much and I have better expendesures of time.

Has somebody made a CIV3 WW2 scenario like the one in CIV2?
Or just some modern warfare scenario on the actual world map?
I miss realism in these days...

I'm working on one that is as realistic as you can get with Civ 3. The only ahistorical part about it is that the start date is in June 1941 but America is already in the war. I had to do that in order to get both Barbarossa and the Japanese expansion across the Pacific. Uses units from PTW and whatever else can be found on the net. Should be done in a couple weeks probably, and should be (I think) mighty awesome.

Nice...
Being a fellow EU2 player as well,
I put my trust into your definitions of realistic scenarios.

Off topic, don't say I didn't warn you.
PlagueRat, have you been following Hearts of Iron? As a EU fan I would think that this would be just what you are looking for as a WW2 game.

Hey, me too got homework to do.
If I eventually get thru them, HOI and PTW would be my next juncture... (and my poor girlfriend perhaps at last)
So thanks for the tip on the Heart Of Iron!

Kamerat Trip:
Just another question...
Will your units appear in order of historical appearance?
(where you get TigerII etc. at a later stage)
Or are they gonna be implemented in the tech-tree?
(which could also be pretty cool, concerning airpower race)
- ME262 or rockets appearing earlier due to high techrate,
could chang the outcome of the war!
Auf wiedersehn...

Thanks Jack.
And yes TPR, there will be a customized tech tree... don't want those Me-262s running about just yet.
Bis später.

The one I'm working on is a scenario for PTW.
I'll probably make another thread for it when it's done.

The entire world will be included. Making naval warfare fun and interesting is a real challenge.
That and putting all of those cities down and adding buildings to them has become a real pain and is quite time consuming. Sorry for taking so long, hopefully I can get it done within the near future.

Indeed, naval warfare was so poorly implemented in the original CIV3. It could be a challenge to mak that fun...
WW2, naval traits:
-------------------------
The WW2 navy gallery would be cool if you got the knowledge,
with the right stats and so on. Its not so complicated.
Just remember that spotting subs was VERY difficult, even for destroyers. Some specialized aeral recon squadrons also spotted subs on occasions. (they had to surface some days)
WW2 battleships were mighty colosses, and they ruled the waves. A wulfpack of submarines could destroy them, though...
Carriers had not much defense at the time.
(no missiles, no big-guns.)
And WW2 cruisers even happened to get SUNK by coastal batteries. There is a lot more to it, I imagine...
BTW:
-------
Modern navy is completely wrong in the original CIV3 version.
Goddamn cruise missiles won't be fired from the deck, and stuff...
Perhaps this is better in PTW ?
