AI never makes satalites
I have never seen the AI make a sky garden, nessus miner or solar collector. I play on Talent and Librarian, do they only make them on higher dificulties? I want to use my orbital attackers, but can't because they have nothing to shoot.

Michael,
The AI typically only makes sattelites if it is inn the lead in the game. I guess the AI considers sattelites a luxury and only builds them when it thinks it can spare the time.
Maybe trying a higher level may help but only from the standpoint of not being the overall leader instead letting the AI be the leader. I have had many occasions where Yang has been a worthy space adversary. Key is to let him get strong enough to do so but not so strong as to allow him to kick your butt.

Very true, ogie. But even at Transcend level, it happened only once where the strongest AI ( the Drones if I remember correctly) built orbitals: in fact 3 def pods. In single player games, orbital attacks are more esoteric than useful.
I guess it's another matter in multiplay.

Yes, having a bad game really helps if you want to see AI sats. In one case, I've had three other factions launch. I barely won that game.
This makes sense. No point in them sending up orbitals if you are so far ahead that you will knock out all the AI sats with your ODPs.
My best ODP wars have also been with Yang. I notice that he is also the one most likely to launch PBs against me.

Yes, in my current game both Yang and the Usurpers are building hydroponics satellites. Yang is in second place, the Usurpers in fourth.
I've never seen the AI launch an orbital defence pod though.

I never noticed the AI make sats until recentley, then Morgan and Deirdre in my last game started doing so. They were by no means in first place, (I was ) but they weren't too far behind. Deirdre built 3 or 4 Orbital Defence Pods in that game, Morgan built a few Power Transmitters.
