Back from the dead...

At last !
After more than 2 months with too much work or without internet, I'm back on my dear Apolytonian homeland !

I'm tired from my long journey (and from the work for college), so I'm too lazy to look at the whole history of Apolytonia since I left, a long long time ago.

Could anyone tell me what''s going on since the Persians sneak attacked ? Did we crushed them as they deserved ? Did we open a new era of enlightement and science after that ?

What became of the parties ? Do they still exist, are there totally new parties struggling, or are parties now banned ?

What are our institutions now ? To what changes did all the discussions on this matter led ? Are we still using turnthreads or turnchats again ? If so, do some non-Americans play an active role ?

Are their "new" (2 months old ;p ) members who have become VIPs ? Are there other old buggers like me who completely faded away ?

So much questions, I cant think of them all. I'd really love if someone could write me a history of these last 2 months of Apolytonia.

SPIFFOR!!!! Welcome back amigo!

Just as a quick summary,

I am President again, and we have just in the last chat killed France. Persia is basically out of it with only a few cities left. We have discovered all the lost civs, and made a decent amount of money off of them. The FP is only 8 turns from completion in Contaginon. We just got a GL in our war on France and haven't used it yet.

I think that's it...

You could look at the reports inthis thread and in OPD's threads it has a link to.

Hello Spiffor,

MWIA, as usual, describes only his personnal achievements (he is always campaigning for reelection), but some other things have happened. For instance, the people has been strongly suggested to approve the most deeply though constitution ever conceived, and he did. This constitution will be enforced on Novenber 18, and I am sure you will be interested to know that under that new fundamental law the President can veto all laws voted by the people. This is clearly opening the way toward a new regime : the dictatorial republic.

Adding to MWIA's summary, we also have several wonders: The Pyramids (taken from Persia), Sun Tzu's Art of War and The Sistine Chapel (the last two were built using GLs from the war with Persia). We have just gotten a new GL from the war with France and it appears we'll be using it to create an army and later build the heroic epic.
Our forbidden palace is nearly complete and our new palace is on the way.
We are at a golden age and we're researching Democracy, which is just four turns away. I understand we plan to switch to Democracy from Republic as soon as the GA is over.

HEY! Excuse me for trumpeting Aggie's magnificent achievements of the GL and France's end - I didn't do that.

The Constitution... I didn't vote on it, and I'm glad I won't need to read that monster of a document. Some may like it, but I don't personally consider such a thing to be an achievement to be trumpeted from the far hills. I'll just stick to the game itself thank you very much. I think the game seems in a fine state as it is, and I sincerely hope this Constitution does not kill us all. I have not read much of it, but if what I have heard is true, there will be the potential for great troubles.

In the same vein, though looking a lot more fun, is the Minigame (purely roleplay), where you bid for terrain, workers, and try to sell the resources collected in that terrain. It looks massive, and I hope one day to get involved. For now though, I will just carry out my orders.

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!. Basically I can sum up the last few months this way. We took over all but a few isolated cities of persia, eliminated America and France(though I've heard rumors that joan will be allowed to live as Ninot's french maid). We discover the lost continents and are now equal on tech. In short we are the superpower in the world . I am still SMC, but am soon going to retire, probably to run for pres.

Hawk Party has dwindled quite a bit. With the absence of Duddha and Unorthodox membership has seemed scarce. It seems that there are few left, and it seems I am alone as the Chairman....

I may run again for some post or another, depends on what opens up. The New Constitution is interesting, we'll see how that works out. And I am disappointed to hear UnOrtho has dropped out. I wonder who is running the Jungle Gazette now?

The Gazette is being run by adaMada and myself, and we're hoping to see it released this week provided nothing strange happens before then.
We still need writers for upcoming issues, provided this game isn't entirely dwarfed by the PTW demo games...

mrmitchell has been controlling MWIA's brain using an intricate array of puppets set up around his RL house that tell him to burn things. Although he hasn't burnt anything yet he did accidently burn his dinner the other day...

-The Sun will explode in six years
-All the members of the Hawk Party have not showered for six weeks.
-All the members of the DIA have been abducted by aliens and have learned their secrets.
-GodKing and MWIA were recently seen at a known meeting location for German spies.

Not Kidding:
-Duddha decided to resign (I think it was Duddha) from the CivIII DG completely
-I think UnOrthOdOx did too, I dunno
-There is now a seperate CivIII PtW forum
-UnOrthOdOx created the United Apolytonian Despots, a now probably defunct group that supported the switch back to Despotism.
-Actually true, Un got his inspiration from my Apolyton Despotism Front, another group dedicated to the switch back to Despotism. Also defunct.
-Panzer32 made the probably also defunct Demotactic Movement of Apolyton dedicated to switch to Democracy.
-In my probably also defunct Forward Thinkers of Apolyton thread, Cidifer and Ninot in their wisdom said there were "too many chiefs, not enough native americans."
