Official Poll: Accelerated Production
Against my will, but for you guys, I'm putting up a poll over the issue of whether or not to use Accelerated Production or not.

The reason why I don't want to play the game with Accelerated Production on, a thesis by Trip:
Accelerated production succeeds in speeding up the game, oh yes, but there are also severe unwanted side effects to this one positive one.
First, to speed things up the 'feel' of the game is sacrificed. REX is promoted even more than usual. The game feels 'rushed', and lacks the strategic focus of the regular game. Instead you're concentrating on pumping out those Archers every 2 turns.
Also, it makes the game more like a RTS (which is bad ). Oh, you've found an undefended city? By the time you get to it they'll have filled it up with a cheap unit that takes 1 turn to build. More 'security' because you can whip up a new force pronto whenever you need to. Less strategy.
These factors severely deplete the 'Civ' feel that we've all grown accustomed to and want in addition to a fun game against other people. What's the fun in playing Civ Multi-player if it's not really Civ you're playing?

I like to use it in SP, but it isn't right for this game.

I've never had any desire to play with it, it *might* be good for this (I voted 'no'), but I have no desire to go and "learn a whole new game".

No accelerated production pls..I want the feel of an "authentic" civ game. Besides in my experience, these game soon turn into just pumping out unit after unit because all improvements have been built and ur waiting for tech.

I played a AP game once, and IIRC the units didn't get X2 movement...
For this reason I voted NO ACCELERATED PRODUCTION!
Did our ancestors get doubled production? It's in no way historically acurate, and the Roleplay team is dedicated to Historiclaly accurate.
