VP is back
Hey all, I'm back
The election went extremely well, both for the individual race I was working on ( 83%!!!!!) and on the national house races we were working with (the congressman I work for is the national campaign chairman). I spent most of yesterday driving around most of Northern VA in the rain to different polling places, ending up getting lost on my way to where one of the counties in the region was announcing their precinct-by-precinct results last night (well, I didn't so much get lost as the campaign manager sent me to the wrong building the first time )... I finally found the correct building (on the other side of that county...) and sat there most of the night calling in our results to our headquarters in the next county... I finally made it back home shortly after midnight and celebrated with people while watching returns until about 5 a.m. before going to sleep
Today was great... the first day I didn't have to set my alarm in over 2 weeks
Now I'm sorta out of a job other than after-election cleanup duty starting tomorrow (we have a few thousand signs out there to pick back up...), so I'm VERY VERY FREE for doing turnchats.
This happens to work rather well with MrWIA's timing, as he seems to want me to do at least a turnchat or two while he'll be without his high bandwidth connection in the near future.
So we'll see.

Glad your back, I was thinking it would be a good idea to just keep the chat going after MWIA had finished his part in this Friday's and go until the FP is done. Since the war is over we should be able to move pretty fast. Though get ready for the fun of moving VERY large numbers of workers and changing worker assignments in the cities.
Congratulations on the election, our side did very well and to a degree made me forget the 98 elections where nothing short of incompetence caused us to squander a perfect oppoprtunity for large gains. This year feels much better.

In related news, the remainder of the ozone layer was dismantled by the Bush Administration and placed in the Smithsonian to celebrate the Republican victories.
Oil prices skyrocketed today on speculation that they could do whatever they wanted, once again.
Enron executive Ken Lay was released on his own recognizance with $25 million in pocket money. He told reporters that he would easily make it to his trial, as he boarded his personal jet for Chile, under escort of the CIA.
President **** Cheney, err George W. Bush, stated that he was really really serious this time about attacking Iraq. And that if the UN did not agree with his latest proposal he was going to use atomic weapons, in the form of an atomic wedgie, where the underpants of the enemy are yanked from the back while they are still worn, and pulled far enough where the underpants actually stretch above the enemies head.
And now for Sports....

jdjdjd,
"Every two years the American politics industry fills the airwaves with the most virulent, scurrilous, wall-to-wall character assassination of nearly every political practitioner in the country--and then declares itself puzzled that America has lost trust in its politicians."
