Thanks for the support, everybody, but to set the record straight I did miss getting in orders two turns ago for PW when my computer got indigestion from an update I installed, it was out of commission for a day and a half.
Arnie, I am not a member of any party, but welcome any support/help offered.
Technically, my gameplay is WarBuilder I build to wage war more effeciently, and wage war to build bigger cities. Its a vicious cycle and I'm seeking therepy.
OC, I'm playtesting FIVE new female sets with PTW right now. One for India, Rome, Carthage, Celts, and the Vikings.
At lastly, I'm not running against ET because I think he's doing a bad job. I know that I can never be as methodical in the CP as him.
My main concern is setting up fair systems for the wide ranging tasks assigned to the position and will need competent RAs to help with the CP work and other tasks. I will only serve one term to help in getting the subdepartments ironed out and will not run for reelection. Hopefully, once its organized and the work has been divided the position will not seem so daunting and there will be more interested candidates.

That's it - I'm here-by announcing my candidacy for the Foreign Affairs Ministry for Term VI
It's definately the position I find to be most attractive AND, at this point, almost certainly the NewCon position for which I'm most qualified (other than perhaps President - but I don't think I want to be Prez next term)
The toughest decision, to be honest, will likely be selecting people to be deputies. Even with the recent exodus, there's likely to be a lot of talent.

I'm afraid I have no time for any long statements, since I'm trying to publish the Gazette tonight, but I'd like to announce I am entering myself into the race for Foreign Affairs Minister.

Wow -- me and Arnelos totally cross-posted there. I swear his post wasn't there when I made mine .
It'll be interesting to have a real election, at least.

2 great elections 4 excellent candidates, what else could we ask for in our first newcon elections. Oh yah 4 great elections and 8 excellent candidates. There still is time for oponents for me and thud. If nobody runs against me I will begin to openly ponder the next VP. Additionally I will consider the science advisor and perhaps an economics advisor. I can't guarentee I will listen to all advice, but i will, as all know I do, consider it greatly.

I am very pleased to see that Ada and Arnelos are both running for FAM. This will allow me to retire in peace from many centuries of public service to devote time towards running the Roleplay civ in the PWT competative demo game.
Both men are excellent candidates for the job. I look forward to this election.

Two elections in a row... the moment I enter the race, I'm apparently the underdog
However, lest I be underestimated... go read the VP campaign thread from the last election.
From JUNGLE GAZETTE XXIV, "Friendly advices to the future candidates for VP" by DAVOUT:
"So you decide to run in the next election... there is a high probability that the other candidate(s) [c]ould be unorthodox or Arnelos. And if things turn really bad, both could run; and against any of them let alone against both, you need a special preparation. This preparation must include:
- Mastering writing, rhetoric, oratory
- Mastering analysis, synthesis, dialectics
- Ability to find amongst 1500 threads and 20 000 posts the very sentence which (out of context) will destabilize your
opponent
- Mastering typography to underline arguments, use big letters for killing words etc
- Fencing and jiu-jitsu for the mental preparation enabling you to counter attack after the most devastating assault
You will have also to demonstrate personal qualities such as elegance in the fight, permanent respect for the opponent (whatever you really think of him at that moment), gallantry when hard and wrong things are said about you, more gallantry when true things are said and repeated about you, perfect control of yourself, and last but not least, an intense activity which can be qualified, without exaggeration, [as] hyper activity."
--------------------------------
Are you ready?

adaMada enters the race, I throw in my support (however much that's worth), and suddenly you're the underdog despite having been VP this term? Wow. You must think very highly of at least one of us.

Buahaha!
Well I'm peeking back for a moment. I have virtually disappeared for the last month. Ghengis decided I really wasn't done with Public Works and decided to actually make me work! Can you believe it? I was building roads and clearing jungle instead of shuffling papers around! I even broke a nail!
Regardless, I hope more people decide to run. I honestly want to tip my hat back into the Presidential ring and go against the amazing and all-mighty Aggie! However, RL has really killed me this last month and I've devoted quite a bit more time to that than I have to the demo game. Fear not, I am still around, but hopefully I can become a more active hand.
I do wish every candidate the best of luck. We have some fine people here! And do not be discouraged and feel as though you are an "underdog." Campaign your best, if anything, us "newcomers" can bring fresh ideas and radical changes to the demo game that keep it interesting!

btw... given the penchant for pubishers of the Gazette to run against me and my last name in RL being 'Bush" (really, I'm not kidding there... no relation, though), I was thinking about publicizing the slogan from a bumper sticker in the 1988 Presidential Election:
"Annoy the Press, Vote Bush"
