Color selecting...
From an Interview here: http://www.bighugegames.com/riseofna...q.html#whenout
"Rise of Nations will include many victory conditions and options for multiplayer gaming. Up to eight players can play head to head, or in teams. (yes, you can select your player color)"
ROFL!! What a slap in the face of Empire Earth!
k, I'm done...

I will assume that you could not in EE...
I wonder why.

You can't in AoM either??
No, you couldn't in EE. In an earlier build of the beta, you could, but for some reason the color selecting option was causing lag in the MP startup screen, so they axed it.
Weird, eh?

Yeah. I guess to me its not that big of deal. Colors are not important other than to determine whose troops are mine and whose are not. But I guess that it is a big deal to many.

I think EVERYONE can agree to that! (And why the hell do games have pink as a color in RTS war games???)

Pink Troops
Anyone here remember the days of pastel baby blue and pink unit counters in the older Avalon Hill boardgames? Of course, it was easy to make your own cardboard counters to replace them - and you could even play during power outages.
If I understand correctly, the American Conquest RTS from GSC Game World/CDV due next year is using authentic uniform & clothing colors (Europeans and New World Indians, 1492-1813) regardless of similarities/minor differences; it will be up to the players to recognize their own forces by the graphics and standard bearers.
