the king's quest
Anybody problems with kings? When I activate Regicide or Regicide(mass) any Player is destroyed when I conquer a city. Whatever City it is.

The first couple of nations I destroyed in that way I thought I was a lucky bastard. Everytime I conquered the first City the enemy king was in exactly that city. Yipee!

Then the first doubts ... After the fifth or sixth the propability that this is right decreased. Then: when I gave away a city far away from my home territories to an allied nation ... I lost the game.

Theory: After checking regicide/regicide(mass) king AND every single city let you loose the game if destroyed or lost.

Anybody the same problem? Forgotten to check a single flag anywhere or something like that?

Pretty cool Firaxis.

I haven't played with these settings yet, but I believe:

"Regicide" - if you capture the opponents king, all of his cities are destroyed and he's out of the game.

"Mass Regicide" - Is quite different. If you capture ANY of your opponent's cities, he is out of the game and his cities are destroyed.

It looks like you were playing Mass Regicide in your example. If you were playing Regicide, well, then you are lucky!

Mass Regicide is supposed to be just like Regicide but with more kings. Elimination is the game mode that causes you to lose if you lose a city.
