Jihad strategy
I know La Fayette's record is 731. Mine is 742
This is what I do:
Max tax
Alliances - request gift
Share maps to find OBJECTIVE cities
Great Wall / Sun Tzu in Medina
I use a couple of settlers to build roads to AI and send about 4 veteran fanatics to take each AI city.
What can I do more or what should I do different to get an earlier date?

Yes, those fanatics are strong!
IIRC, I had more than 80 of them at work in the endgame.
I think that the main difference between your early strategy and mine concerns the Wonders: I didn't care building any (fanatics instead ).
Here is a savegame after 33 years, so that you can see how the early game went on.

I was unable to use the file: "This is not a sav file". Could you zip it?
My civ version is 2.62. Maybe different versions is the cause?

Ok, I got it!!
Just got 4 new civ-versions today:
1.02
2.42
2.7.8
MGE
I gotta lot of catching up to do! All those scenarios, multiplayer, and what not... Enuff for a lifetime in the least. Couldn't play them before - 2.62 is a very limiting version in that respect.
It opened in MGE, I remembered you use MGE.
What do you use all those diplos for? It can't be bribery because you don't have enough money.

Josuah fit de battle of Jericho...
... and de walls came tumbling down.
Almost any city in this game has walls.
Who can get rid of city walls?
diplos.
My method is described in SlowThinker's thread 'Info: diplomats and spies' (in the GL).
To make it short:
Diplomat #1 peeps and tells you how many improvements there are inside the city. Let us say n improvements.
You attack with (n+1) diplomats to make sure that the walls will tumble down (if you are lucky, the first attacking diplo will get rid of the walls, but usually the walls are the last improvement destroyed, that's why using (n+1) diplos is fine).
Congratulations with your numerous versions of civ2, Lars. That should be enough to keep you busy quite a while .

Why not ToT? We need more ToT players so that our succession games can really roll!

Here's the early sav game:
Posted the endgame by mistake above. I used your file to compare statistics: f1-f11. It is very interesting and useful. Boy have I learnt much these two last games. After you posted your game I played twice - the learning curve is exponential. I took notes all the time. Hopefully this will spill over to occ and "occ+" (early landings AC).

Inch Allah!
All records are to be beaten
Improving from 110 turns to 84 turns is rewarding.
Congratulations Lars: you are now on the list of recordholders for CiC scenarios
