AC back story

I am sure this has been asked a thousand times. But, I will ask anyway.
When SMAC first came out there was a story that Firaxis was posting on the website that was the back story leading up to the release. My question is, where can I find this to download and read. I looked at the alphacentauri.com site but cannot find it.
