Yes still addicted, play nearly every day. I was burned out for a while earlier in the year and I didn't play for a few months but I'm back in the swing of things and when I get PTW I'll be playing more than an hour or two a day!

I just stoped, or it would take too much time
It's stil a great game and all, but I just think gaming-only lives don't make happy people. Like drugs, they may want their next dose but it's not drugs that's making them happy...

Playing it the typical way only has its fun for so long, then I start being innovative; i.e., playing on chieftain with accelerated production and amassing a gigantic army that nobody can possibly counter because they're all several techs behind me. Nothing feels better than starting a war with everyone else, knowing that there's nothing any of them can do against your Empire.

Voted #2, even though it would be more precise to say that I would like to play it at least once a week. Unfortunately, these time constraints... but I am definitely not getting tired of Civ3... perhaps just because I do not play that much last weeks. A couple of hours every two weeks, I think... if I get to play a computer game at all, then it's Civ3.

Unfortunately I cant vote on polls for some unknown reason, I have asked on the poly community forum but to no avail.
My choice is no 2 but mainly because I spend to much time here reading the forums.

I have been playing less than I used to. I used to waste most of the day playing, but now I limit it to an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon and I don't play on the weekends. It depends on how much 'alone time' I have.

I stopped playing for about six months there but geared back up for PTW about a month before it came out.
Even though I am disappointed with the quality of MP, I'm a still hooked again.

Well, I really cannot vote since the options I love the game and still enjoy it is not up there. I do not play once a week or once a month I just play whenever I feel like it and I still have great interest for the game. Now with PTW coming out here in Germany I am planning some all nighters.
Same thing happened with Civ 2, I played it up to 2001 but not every week.
So long...

It should have an alarm feature so that you can say "I'm only going to play for one hour" and have some chance of keeping your word.
CTP2 used to have a similar feature but it would enforce it by totally crashing the system. The fact that no mention was made in the manual and the interval was random lead many hopeless cynics to suggest that it was a bug.
maybe civ3 should come with a small windup alarm clock as a marketing gimick.

Voted nr.2, not because I'm not addicted anymore but I don't have enough time so usually I play only once or twice a week.

I guess I do not fall in any. I am still playing most of the time, but I am getting burned out. I have just a few more things I want to see and then I will take a break and play some of the others games I have piled up.

Still a bit addicted but I only have it since July so...
Today I finally got Medieval: Total War so I won't play civ3 in the near future that much anymore.
This is really a game that you can put away for some months and after that you are fully refreshed to start another period of civing.

I voted 1. Still addicted.
And here's something I don't get - what are people that voted "I can't stand it. It's played to death." doing here anyway?
When I hate a game, I don't hang around its forums complaining about how I hate it. Shouldn't they just get a different hobby...?

I still play Civ3 after 2 1/2 years.
I also play SMAC from time to time.
I even play civ2 oT, with the extra stuff lke Fantasy and Sci-Fi worlds.
I've been known to play Civ1 once in a while, whenever I feel like nostalagia and want to revisit the original.
A question, how many of you played Civ1? Or still own a copy of Civ1?

Here's an answer I can identify with.
I would change my screen name to "My Wife Hates Civ" but that is already taken by ANOTHER gentlemen in the same situation.
I had a serious argument with my wife about this recently. Now I try to play when she's not around or paying attnetion. In the past, I used to hide the porno screen behind CNN.com when she walked into my office. Now I'm hiding C3C behind a porno screen when she walks in!!!

The Wife: I redid my office specifically because of this game and put in a comfortable couch and television. The Mrs. is now perfectly content to hang out and read or watch the tube, only making the occasional comment that “My war is too loud” and asking if I could turn it down. It’s a grand arrangement. And all of this happens after the infant - a happy, welcome consumer of my time, but nevertheless, ultimate consumer of it beyond words - is put to bed.
The Game: I still play civ a couple three times a week, but after discovering the Editor, I find myself screwing around with it, and testing my modifications and maps as much as/more than actual playing.

I have to manage my addiction or my work would suffer. So I only allow myself to play Civ on just the weekends and suffer the Monday morning Civ hangover instead of being comatose for the whole work week. My wife has long realized that she is a computer widow probably as result of my previous Civ II and SMAC addictions.

Oh boy....
If I had a wife, I'd ignore her nagging and ignore her complaints when I play any of my computer games.
Remind me not to get a wife.
