When I'm at home, I'm playing C3C. When I'm at work, I'm here on ACS. I'm addicted. And not happy about it.

No need, you won;t be able to keep one with that point of view.
Of course I share that view, but I am divorced.

I break my addiction to Civ3 by either....
1. Hide the Civ3 CD.
2. Play some other game like RoN
3. Delete my game saves to remove my ambition to do new games (makes sense? )

no, I'm not sure I was ever addicted to it.
I did play quite a few hours- though not nearly as much as some as you. I have probably only played less than 10 epic games .
I played most of the C3C scenarios twice. I may play a few more one or two more times. I may play another epic game soon- I'm kind of in the mood.
But for the most part I'm done with Civ3. I'll keep in on my hard drive for when I have that urge. I'll probably start up a game one or two times a year- maybe more often for shorter scenarios.

Did I already answer?
I ain't going anywhere. Finished AU 501, finally, and I've already got the bug to start a new epic game... or one of the Conquests I haven't done (as in, I'm saving the latter Conquests like candy to play over the next two years ).
In other words, I'll be here, and I'll be playing. And when Civ4 comes out, I'll be there too.

I had a serious argument with my wife about this recently. Now I try to play when she's not around or paying attnetion. In the past, I used to hide the porno screen behind CNN.com when she walked into my office. Now I'm hiding C3C behind a porno screen when she walks in!!!
|
Place computer screen at far end of house facing the wall. Get headphones and use them. Make an obstacle course in the computer room. Get up and leave the room to deal with all visitors. Install and wear a cell phone to encourage calling instead of walking across the house. Shift sleeping hours. Plan ahead. And yes the porno screen is seeming more favored over CSC. However admit to nothing.
Addiction is not what is seems... or rather what is seen

I've tried breaking the Civ CD before. I've smashed Civ3, SMAC and SMAX because I played them too much. That works for a few months untill I see it in a bargain bin one day and pick it up again.
I think the only solution for me is to not have a PC in my house. This is kind of difficult because I work as a programmer..

Third option, tired of it, overplayed it at the expense of other great games. The desire to play it may return in some time, or may not.

I like the avatar. One of the greatest action shows in the 80's (which isn't saying much ). Only behind Airwolf.

Is it? When I live outside of Bremen in the early 90’s his concert bills were plastered everywhere.

Sure. No argument. It's 2004. But that makes it less a "myth" so much as "not true anymore."

I never remember it to be true. In Germany live 80 million people within a couple hundred miles, so distance doesn't matter. Even the worst, talentless artist can count on a few hundred or thousand fans who visit his concerts because they are so close. Though a few hundred or thousand fans don't make him "loved in Germany".

Ditto and ditto.
Still playing MP a bit and a couple of PBEMs, but the C3C map generator sucked the last bit of desire I had for the game... for now. It will return, it always does.
