Progression of the Ages
A Civ-poem
5 cities
siting ready
drafting units
creating warriors
10 cities
building greatly
crafting wonders
trading goods
15 cities
industrialized nation
Sir Francis Bacon
circumnavigate the globe
pave the road
20 cities
modern times
capitalized dimes
ICS we see
ICBM, the solution, so it be
3 nations
meeting each other
welcoming their brother
backstab trio
deadly duo
beginning of enmity
cities empty
20 cities
producing tanks
ready marines
hopeful dreams
conquest rolling
banners flowing
15 cities
receding greatly
giving ground
anthems losing their once great sound
revolution occurring
taxes rising
buildings selling
10 cities
isolated settlements
hidden in the mounts
pillaged roads
hidden paths
regressing lives
5 cities
sitting tight
watching light
alpha centauri
shining bright
nuclear winter
dying light
OR ALTERNATE LAST 2 LINES
alpha centauri
shining bright
AUTHOR'S COMMENTS: (BEHIND THE KEYBOARD) SPECIAL EDITION: [DARKCLOUD]:
I don’t know… I don’t think this is on a par with my old Civ III-Poem; but I think that it’s at least fairly interesting…and fairly good
for a short read
… There’s a lot of ‘inside-Civ’ jokes included
And if you can figure out the organization of the poem- kudos to you
