The Hydey report 1650 AD
1550 incremental rush buying of caravans begins, we need the gold & beakers.
Celts build Great library
so many cities have no trade routes missing out on all the bonus trade.
1560 heaps of vans completed now just have to ship them
Bribe barb archer as we pass Cartena
1570 More vans completed, Population now 3 million
Discover advanced tribe size2 with temple whale and coal
1580 Build some more triremes for vans delivery and continued exploration
Get non musketeer from hut
Japs now have knights
1590 Malaga builds harbor , keep moving vans and discovering new lands
1600 Leos upgrades as we discover MEDICENE , begin democracy
Deliver silver to leptis parva for 105 gold & beakers
1610 more moving and discovering as copper to rusicade gets up 95 beakers & gold
1620 Cordoba builds library
Get wandering nomad from hut on vacant island
1630 more moving and discovering
1640 find CELTIC city of Dinas Powys in the distant north, contact next turn
Dye to Canton at last 285 golden beakers
1650 Leo’s upgrades as we discover DEMOCRACY, begin sanitation so we can WLTPD past size 12
Land musket to contact the CELTS and sign a peace treaty, give them invention, warrior code and literacy in exchange for Navigation, Astronomy and Chivalry
Empty Caravel spots a MONGOL catapult and then finds Mongol city of Kabul
Pop Hut 200 gold.
Stopped here as there are many new things for ministers to look at and poll the people about.
Played 10 turns and in that time we gained 5 new techs and found 2 new civs
1660 is an OEDO year so if the people desire I can revolt immediately into democracy which I would like to do, it will cause a little short term pain but long term gain with no corruption and higher caravan payoffs giving us faster and faster techs.

Sanitation wasn't on the tech list for consideration, since I figured we would have time to pick it up while our cities grew toward 12.
but you acquired both Navigation and Astronomy, both of which were on the hit list...
Hydey, as you know, I need a zipped version so I can unwrap for the Mac. Please send it to...

Thanks.

Well, good session! It's nice to finally find the Celts and Mongols (it will be even better to establish embassies ). I certainly hope they are good trade partners. And that tech trade seems to have been a good one, too.

Hmm- starting to worry about the Celts.
They are still tracking us despite our tech lead
and an excellent session by President Hydey.
WE NEED DEMOCRACY
Let us free the people from the shackles of
corruption
Let's go to WLtPD and recapture the top spot
for population
All in all, well played but lots of work left to do.

In fact, you can't even *open* that city's production screen to look at it, or you are forced to pick something else (because Warriors aren't on the list anymore). I discovered that during my last session (I had never *not* had Feudalism by that point in a game before).

But do you see the power of this bug now?
In 1x1x you can just criple your oponent by mass building warriors/musks and parking them on his homeland
