Geez, BustaMike, polite often? Mac/PC rivalry = Yawwwwwwn.
How do you play ovet the internet? My assumption is that the Mac version of SMAC offers the same multiplayer options as the PC version: Simultaneous play over LAN, TCP/IP, or IPX, or hotseat Play By E-Mail, referred to hereabouts as PBEM. From the main screen that appears to you when you start the game, choose the multiplayer option, then Start Multiplayer Game. You should see all the options I just listed. But...
First, you'll need to find someone to play against. For PC users, there are lots of ways to meet other players; GameLeague has listings of other players, and many people use a program called ICQ to find people for simultaneous play. These resources may be useful to you, also, if the Mac version is compatible with the PC version. No one seems to know if it is, which makes it unlikely--if they'd made it compatible, I assume they'd have let us know. On the other hand, you can never tell. Also, it may be possible that the two platforms cannot play simultaneously with each other, but *can* play PBEM. To test this, a Mac player and a PC player would have to get together and try a PBEM game. I'd be willing to try this, if you would.
Setting up a game, once you've found someone to play against, is different depending on what type of game you want to play, and I won't go into all that right now. I hope this much has been helpful.

BustaMike, no hard feelings. Just busting your... chops.
M'sieu iMac, please be more specific. What kind of game are you trying to set up? The manual should document this pretty well, in any case.

lol... AlphaHQ. That site is soo empty.. you can't blame people for not wanting to do a 20 hour simultaneous play game though. Anyway on the main splash screen there should be a menu that says multiplayer... click on that and then make your choice.
