Hello, I'm new to the CIVIII forums, but I've been playing for a while and just got PtW. I'd like to join or start a new game. Joining would suit me better right now, being a virgin and all
I've been playing PBEM Call to Power for nearly a year, so trust me, I have the staying power to stick with a game.
For my first games I would like to play standard settings, with more human than AI players.
I suggest adopting the Call to Power custom, which is to allow each player one chance to call a restart in the first 10 turns. So, if I call a restart, we restart, and I want another one, too bad. Someone else would have to call one, and after turn 10 there's no turning back. I also like SpencerH's method of the triple start and vote for which version to proceed with.
Looking forward to meeting you all on the playing field

This thread is actually dead and there is no reason for it to remain on top. The game Daedalus was referring to here started long ago. If you want to participate in a game, you will have to join another new game or start one yourself.

OK Nukeboy, superkozi (cool name, btw), shall we try to get more players, or go with 3?

Maybe there will be more people. And one question, are we to play PBEM or normally? I know it's a section of PBEM but it's just a question. I would wait for other people. Computer likes to be very stupid...

This thread seems to be quite dead. Still it's an active thread like this I'm looking for to join a C3C PBEM. I've got no MP experience whatsoever allthough I've played civ I to III in intervals of interest for more than 10 years. I haven't taken the effort to read through every stategy post on the forums to find the ultimate stategy. I played civ III at monarchy level successfully.

I'm glad you posted ikkuh. I'm also interested in a PBEM game, but never having done this before, I also didn't know how to get started.
Sometimes people drop out of current PBEM games and there is a posting asking for a fill in player.
If nothing else pans out, perhaps you and I could get a game going with 6 AIs?
Any PBEM pros care to offer any advice?

Hi guys. What I suggest is that you state your desire to start a new pbem game as a separate thread - sort of like "New PBEM starting up!! Anyone Interested??"
Or if you have a theme in mind - Classics Pbem anyone? Naval civ anyone?
Don't worry about being relatively new to pbem. You might want to state that up front, and then maybe one of the more experienced players will start the game, or better yet, help you get it started.
My experience with this forum is that if you simply post a new thread such as this - you will have nmore than enough interest.
Specify whether you want to play civ3ptw of conquests.
I would limit yourself to 5 or 6 players to start with. Do not use a large map - the agme goes more slowly from a player interaction perspective.
You will also have to decide on random or pre-set settings, and random or chosen civs. That kind of thing.
Then once it is going - it is best to start a new thread for the turn by turn postings. Check out one of the games already going. Most folks simply post "Sent to john Doe of The Romans" If you leave the title as "Anyone interetsted?" you will keep getting people viewing it thinking a new game is starting up.
And yes - this thread has not quite worked out quite as intended, but the pbem world here is quite dynamic.
Jump in. Best of luck. I or any of the others are more than happy to answer further questions.

I don't know why, but the 'subscribe' feature has not been notifying me of this thread properly. All my others do just fine, hence I have not 'seen' these replies till Beta's popped up and announced a reply to this thread today.

Did we loose a topped thread from this forum somewhere?
Anyone interested in signing up and/or hammering out the rules for another PBEM tournament, head over here.
