**HELP** Freeze in multiplayer setup screen.

Amd 1700+, Win xp, Asus A7A266, 512DDR, PNYti4600, EarthlinkDSL, with windows firewall off and I'm not part of a network.

Now I can click on a game, and hit join. Next screen with the chat, and check button is fine. When everybody is set, and the host launches, the screen where you pick you civ, ( I think that's it, I've only seen it for a second) I freeze. My mouse still works, but the game is frozen. I can alt tab out and then close.

One more detail. At this "pick your civ" screen, there are 2 boxes on the right for each player, I'm assuming to click?, but I only have 1 box, and it's red. I think it is the box on the right.
