Name the Planet 1st Run-Off Poll
This poll exists for the purpose of establishing what the TOP TWO choices are for a planetname.
What would you like our planet in the PTW Democracy Game to be called?
1. Bob
2. Mingapulco
3. Apolyton
4. Maailma
5. Abstain (as in not voting, you smart-alec)
If any one option obtains an actual majority (50%+1, counting abstains), then it will be the name of the planet. If not, the top 2 options will be taken to the final run-off poll. That poll will determine what the chosen name will be.
This poll will last 3 days.

It has to be Bob.
Mingapulco and Apolyton are cities, not planets! Get it right!

Where does this "Bob" thing come from?
Is there some big inside-joke that I've missed?

Some SciFi that you would rather not own up to. But, someone will be along soon to explain.

Bob, Bob, Bobbing for apples....(GF sings incredibly off key)
The only thing better than Bob, would be to call it planet Tod.

Something from the Civ3 Demo game i recon. They were going to name the continent and someone said that in all our continents (on Earth that is) the names 1st letter is the same as the last. Then they decided to call the continent 'bob'. I think it was something like that, thats what they told me when i asked atleast
EDIT: Apolyton must ofcourse be the planet name!!! In civ3 DG it was only one human/apolytonian civ. Here it's five!

I suppose I am destined to be the nosy one who comes along to answer the question the proper way: Bob refers to the name of the new homeplanet created in Titan A.E.
I voted Maailma

No, not Bob, it just doesn't sound right. NEWS REPORT: TTA has been wiped off Bob by the Builders of Legoland.

"Wiped off Bob" sounds good. "Wiped off by the Builders of Legoland" doesn't sound right though.

Bob? Huh? What in the world are you guys thinking?!?!?! What would we call ourselves?
Boblings? No... to stupid.
Bobicans? Please...
The best choice would be:
Bobbits.... Anyone remember a guy named John Wayne Bobbit? Anyone here remember what happened to him?
*** Donegeal shudders ***
I don't think I like that idea...
Vote Apolyton! Its our Name-sake!

It may not be the most glamorous name, but I think the beauty of Bob lies mostly in it being so 'out of nowhere' and full of questions....everyone who joins is now going to be asking 'who's this bob everyone's talking about?'.

Isn't there another option missing here? As in, the civ who is dominate around 1AD names the world??? After all, isn't it the conquerers who write history?

I realize its a little late, but as our glorious ancestors named the planet after what they walked on (earth) perhaps we should've named the planet "Clod" instead of Bob.

You're only halfway to the truth of the issue with that statement... establishing a common name requires a large degree of voluntary self-enforcement... By conducting polling for a common name and thus utilizing people's conditioned respect for the legitimacy of democratic results, a lot of people are willing to call the planet Bob or whatever else decided upon, even though they wouldn't otherwise do so
Afterall, the name of the planet doesn't require the same unanimity required for selecting the mapsize or difficulty level...
Interesting, eh?

"Bob" ...think of it! - Isn't the voting masses stupid?
(just as in RL politics)
"bob, bob, BOB... " Whos idea was in in the first place???
Ahhhhh! I'll BLOBB that person right in his... BOB!

Who thought of Bob? Well it doesn't matter.
16 people, 40% of all who voted in the poll decreed what to name our planet. Whether you like it or not, those 40% are right. Majority's a B***H eh?

Bob...hmm...until my team wins *ahem* the planet will be named Bob...afterwards, it will most likely be called Luxor or Trippanna or Luxia....
In otherwords, this is a silly poll, and not worth my remaining handfull of brain cells? Eh, Arnelos?
