11% of Americans can't find the USA on a map
And more embarrassing facts can be found in National Geographic's latest survey among 18-24 year olds. For example:
87 percent cannot find Iraq
83 percent cannot find Afghanistan
76 percent cannot find Saudi Arabia
70 percent cannot find New Jersey
49 percent cannot find New York
11 percent cannot find the United States

So if 49% cannot find New York. How stupid must those (70-49=) 21% that can find N.Y. but not New Jersey be?

Bah! That totals much more than 100%, so this survey is obviously a scam.

I really have to doubt thouse figures. Everybody knows geogprahy is not the strongest points of murricans, but there has to be some fault in those figures. I refuse to believe those.

I don't believe those number either. The murricans cannot know that much...

HAHA, go to the page and do the test. I'm on the first question, 55% of swedes knows the population of the US; only 25% of the people from the US, in fact they are the worst group on the first question! ´

Geez, I didn't think Americans were this eager to prove stereotypes about them correct.

They are probably teached some really ****ed-up rule of thumb for remembering the directions, like "west is the opposite direction of where your right hand is pointing" or "Columbus sailed west towards India which is in the east, except he did it the other way around" or something like that.
