Which of the following organizations endorses the euro as the common currency for its members?

World Trade Organization (WTO)
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
European Union (EU)
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
I Don’t Know

And Americans are dumb??????

20/20, even though geography is anything but my strong point. During the first half of the test I just laughed every time I looked at the survey results. During the other half I came closer and closer to crying. But I guess I'll just have to believe now that I'm part of the intellectual elite of the world fnord .

Americans who reported that they accessed the Internet within the last 30 days scored 65 percent higher than those who did not.
Internet good, life bad .

I can't understand why so many people didn't know the right answer to that religions question. It's one of the first things you're told in U1 (the first course on Lutheran religion in high school, most people have to take this) in Finland, and I'm sure it was mentioned several times in comprehensive school, too... so it should be pretty standard trivia.

Many people assumed that China and India are Buddist. Well, China is officially atheist and India is Hindu. The largest Buddist country today is Japan.

As for Christians, people often forget to consider Latin America and Africa.

I learnt the order of number of followers of each religion in RE classes. It didn't come up in geography as a direct statement. Not sure if its changed in the past 10 years though.

1) Christianity
2) Islam
3) Hinduism
4) Buddhism
5) Sikhism
6) Judaism.

It's a joke right?
I just can't imagine that somebody couldn't find his own country on the map.

And Kudos for those who guessed that Reno is indeed west of Los Angeles California.

Was Reyjevak the correct answer for the western most European capitol? That was my guess. I just can't spell it. Icelanders and their strange language...

I've had the benefit of visiting California and Nevada on several occasions. I know the lay of the land.

I took the test and had little trouble.

However, let's not forget this survey only included 3,000 participants, from 9 countries. Do not act as if this survey represents all of America, or any other country whose citizens participated.

17% of Americans know where Afghanistan is, and 58% know where al-Qaeda and the Taliban were based. So much for the idea of war teaching Americans geography (I wonder how bad those numbers were before 9/11 ).

Well, incidently, I believe SD showed numbers showing 11% of Brits thought the USA was in the EU.

Ari Rahikkala, I don't know.. I answered Buddhist for some reason. I knew that Christianity WAS the biggest some years ago, but somehow I thought it's the second biggest now. I really don't know why I thought this was the case.

What's really hurting is all those people who don't know where Pacific Ocean is. The questions are multiple choice and you almost can't go wrong with them. Sad.

*sigh* Got 19/20, but then, I haven't paid much attention to religious demographics.

Hm. The test creators could have been a bit evil and made the range of choices for the "which number represents this nation" questions a cluster of numbers instead of ones all over the globe.

(Mainly because I almost picked Iran as Afghanistan until I looked a bit closer at the map and noticed I was not picking a landlocked nation. Plus the number representing Iran wasn't one of the choices.)

I just want to point out that America was "founded" by Europeans who were lost.

Maybe we are just carrying on the traditions of our forefathers. It's in our genes not to be able to read a map.

The British don't know where the pacific ocean is. What does that say about them? And to think they once had such a great navy...
