Xenobanana on all: Not that I have anything against any of the candidates, but I don't feel I can vote for Governors while I still argue that they've been introduced too quickly and in a rushed style. It may seem (and probably is) pointless, but I wanted to make a point.

SPEECH:
If elected as Governor of 'Region 2' (which I intend to name 'the Midlands'), I will:
1) Move to equalize the distribution of crawlers between New Apolyton and the other bases.
2) Stop wasting crawler time by crawling minerals frokm forests, and send them to gather minerals from mines or harvest food instead.
3) Place less empahsis on colony pods that will take decades to reach their destination and instead concentrate on infrastructure and (to a lesser extent) military development.
4) Set New Apolyton to constructing the CDF.
Anything I missed? Any questions?

Err... I just read the renewed constitution and I saw a line I hadn't noticed before. The governors are supposed to "poll for guidelines for their regions." What exactly does this involve? I was under the impression that it was the DIA's responsibility to poll for guidelines and that the governors are to put this into concrete orders.

I think Governors are supposed to poll for what facilities etc. people want, and all things that don't concern other regions. If it concerns more than one region, then it's up to the DIA.
