Civgroups Question

i've seen these things pop up with alarming regularity... but, just what do they mean, and how do i acquire one? i haven't seen anything in the control panel abou it...

If you go to the Civgroups page, you can manage your "subscriptions" easily with the Join and Leave functions.

They show what groups you are involved in, and can allow others to (for example) seek you out for a Civ3 MP game if you are part of that group.
