I don't like it because it's a lame story line with bad acting and even worse direction.

The bad direction only crops up when Lucas gets his hands on it. Look at Empire Strikes Back as an example of a good Star Wars movie.

But it was one of the big movies that began the blockbuster... so according to what you said in the Harry Potter thread, you must like it!

but i mean 1 out of 5 isnt that good. 4 and 6 were basically the same movie except with puppets and the revelation that vadar was lukes father.
6 should of been named: A NEW HOPE: WITH PUPPETS!

But lightsabres are cool! Especially when combined with Star Wars 'huge drops everywhere' sets.

I don't like it because it seems to have started a filmmaking trend, waaay back in 1977: Almost all modern movies are intended to appeal to children.
This is why I mostly watch porn these days...

Well, they screwed up the colour scheme in the new ones, in my opinion. In the original trilogy, lightsabres and blaster shots were the main flashes of colour in a mainly grey colour scheme, with different settings having other colours: Tatooine was sand coloured, Hoth was white, Endor was green.
In the new trilogy, the lightsabres and blasters are washed out in the splendour of the Old Republic.
Sorry, I seem to be ranting...

That, and the plots are generally more involved and have fewer cliches than what's playing at the Cineplex

No, that's what they were going for.
The Old Republic was vibrant and colorful. With the Empire, technology regressed and everything went gray and dull.
It may not look as good, but it is symbolic.

With any luck, the greyness will fully return in the final episode.
There were some nice mono-colour scenes in AOTC, which were also the better scenes in the film. The blue cloning planet (forgot it's name) and Genosha were pretty decent.

I assume that some greyness will return with the Empire coming to fruition.
However, it won't FULLY return. In the beginning the Republic still (sort of) exists.

Hehehe... Starwars sucks... I prefer watching Star Trek...

To be honest, Return of the Jedi is actually my favorite from the original trilogy. Mainly because of the huge space battle between the Rebel and Imperial fleets over Endor. The scene where Lando spins the Falcon around and finds himself staring at a fleet of Star Destroyers with the Super Star Destroyer Executor in the middle was truly awe-inspiring. Definitely the best space battle I had seen until Star Trek DS9 had the Dominion War. Also I liked the displays of the Empire's power: the scene at the very beginning where Vader lands on Death Star 2 as well as the scene in the middle when the Emperor arrives. I guess I just really thought the Empire was cool back then...lol.

From original trilogy?
I'll take empire strikes back anyday. An ending with an unsatified feeling (evil wins in a way), battle of hoth....
I'm not a fan of starwars though. I'm the type who watched Phantom Menace by borrowing the VHS from a fanatic friend and saved the 9 bucks. I generally steer myself away from any star prefixed scifi shows/movies... except stargate. That's my only one exception.

The original trilogy was great. The new trilogy seems to be getting worse with each subsequent release.

Episode 2 was much better than Episode 1! And I think it's the second (or third based on my mood) best movie in the series, after ESB (or ESB and ANH depending on how I'm feeling ).

I put ESB as the second worst of them all.
Although I rate them pretty much according to the size of the battle-scenes in the movie. ROTJ's entire second half of the movie was battle. Yay!
Clones comes in at number 2 due to the clone battle and the fact that Natalie Portman was in the movie.
However, even the large army of robots in the first episode couldn't save that movie.

ESB was great because it was dark, and it had innovative backdrops like Hoth and Cloud city.
I thought TPM sucked so bad, I never bothered to see clones. Lucas is way overdoing it on "digital" actors and scenery, and the plot is too convoluted.
And Midiclorians? WTF?? Why does the Force have such a reductionist, scientific basis? I thought the Force was supposed to be spiritual.
