the current regions poll shows a clear favour for the current region layout (and i doubt that'll change...). thus, name the regions!

regions 1: New Apolyton, Tacticus academy, thisbaseisbelongtous, antioch
The Midlands
Write-In

region 2: concordia, sheathed sword, pandemonium, terminal dogma
Jedinica
Write-in

region 3: UNPD, new tassagrad, deus ex machina, zanarkand gate
Nunavut

Sadly TKG This Poll is unconstitutional. For heavens sake have you not followed the court case or are your trying to stir it up or are you just power crazy?

The whole issue of naming is subject to an injunction.

Oh please Hercules just quit it all right!

Makahlua was not in fault with organizing those basename polls. And don't give me the argument she polled on 'what to name' instead of 'how to name' our bases. That's nitpicking with language just to get your supposed right. I, and I assume many others, interpreted 'how to name' our bases as polling the exact names of those bases, not the method of naming those bases. So Makahlua was just doing what the constitution asked of her.

Nor is TKG in fault with polling region names. It isn't written in the constitution he can't poll those. Granted, nor is it written he should poll them, but someone has to, no? Do you have a better method? Well then present it for discussion and perhaps the constitution can be amended. Anyways, IMO the constitution should be seen as a general guideline, not a document where is strictly outlined what and what not officials can do. Such a strict interpretation would make our faction ungovernable whenever an unforseen event comes up. Let's keep things a bit free all right?

I have to agree, at least he's polling. Since the Constitution gives him the right to choose regions, let alone just naming them, without a poll, I'm not complaining if he wants to poll. Those were the only names thought up in discussion, and so it's his call to poll between them.

I think since all people doing official polls are elected anyway, we can give them a bit of freedom. They are chosen to do their job, by the people, and can be voted out if the we feel they're not listening to us. But as far as each exact poll, I think we can be a bit more lenient, it's not like TKG's being "power crazy".

As for The "Lemmington" region, perhaps a better name could be something Egyptian or Meso-American (having New Suez and the canal in mind). or something regarding Morgan (Organia?) since that region borders his territory?

I'm not even voting. This is way premature.

We have the region layouts. Names are NOT urgent.

So why have we grabbed the first name suggested, and not waiting for ANY alternatives?

A couple of these are fine, but a couple outright suck. And where is Darknessstan?

This should be repolled after some debate, so we don't get region names that suck.

Strangely enough, because of the court case I felt restrained to comment or to add to the discussions on naming ( base names, region names. landscape features, landmarks), bar suggesting they (the discussions) were not appropriate at that moment; least I would be seen to condone the current practice.

Awaiting the decision also meant, I couldn't contribute to naming suggestions for regions.

How about striking this poll completely, starting a new name thread for regions only, and getting a list of decent names?

If we can have around fifteen proposed names for cities, I'm sure we could come up with more than four names for regions.

Suggestion for the Midlands : Centralis

And though I prefer Jedinica, other possibilities for that region could be "The Highlands" (if the Midlands get chosen as well :-) or "Himalaya" province.

to Centralis. I prefer Jedinica too, and I like Nunavut (and even Lemmington, he deserves something!) but I think The Midlands is a little bland. Just my personal opinions though.
