It's also a simple way to double the spam-count in your mailbox. Courtesy of Yahoo, Inc., anyone who puts their e-mail address on a YahooGroup gets their e-mail address information sold to any spammer on the planet willing to pay Yahoo, Inc. for the information.
Not that the pop-up ads haven't gotten several times more annoying than usual around here the past several days (
), but at least that's for a good cause. I don't feel like supporting Yahoo
