We have a problem
It may not be so big, but it is may be a problem for some none the less.
It is possible for a player to turn Accelerated Production on when they load the game. Once they save and forward, Accelerated Production is on, and it cannot be turned off.
Accelerated Production is on for the save I have received. I cannot turn it off.
I post this with no further editorial. Let the players discuss it.

Hmm... if we can track at which point it was turned on, could we just get the teams after that to re-take their first turns?
Just a thought.

It might be pointed out that the same thing could happen to any game at any point again in the future.

How do we check if the setting is on, in the save we received?

It is odd that it happened. It would be an unusual bug. Perhaps someone should enture to the PBEM Forum and ask

Yeah, but doesn't this mean that some teams will have missed out on a turn of accel. production? (unless, of course, it was on from the beginning.)

I figured. I just wanted to point out it wouldn't exactly be fair to all teams.

Hmm that would explain a great many things.....
Would prefer non-Accelerated Production here, especially if some of the other civs didn't get it.

It WAS NOT on when I played. It should be fairly simple to find out which team started it and go from there. Also Vox can put in a password this time.

how are u guys loading the game? are you guys loading it from single player loading menu or multiplayer load menu? If you load from a single player load, then you shouldnt have problem changing settings.

It could break the game for the next team, but I could try that, if people wish me too.
I could redo our turn if it does do something fubar. We have no moving units this turn, most likely.

I can't check the game right now as I'm at work, but I can see a screenshot just after we founded our first city and I'm pretty sure AP was not on for us according to the amount of turns left for our first production and first science advance.

Wait a minute... you can't change game options at all when loading through SP.
We can't recover it that way, but you can break the game that way. At least with 1.04.

Errr... getting a bad haunch. Excuse my ignorance, but I consulted my PtW manual and it said I should have loaded through "Load Game" from the Main menu. That is, the same way I load SP savegames... did I screw up? If I did, just forgive me, I have never played PBEM before and got to play our turn rather unexpectedly.

I always loaded from the main menu and so did all the people I bothered to ask, I dont know why NYE wanted to suddenly load from the MP one.
Btw, in our save we dont have accelerated production, so it changed later.

I have noticed a feature (bug???) in PBEM games where if you load a game it will keep the options as default when you start a new one. This can cause this problem with PBEM because it is the first turn.

Eli (Vox) said the AP was not on when they played their turn. It must have been Lux Invicta or us (Legoland). But replaying from the Vox turn would be fine, I think. They could set their password, allowing for public posting of the savegames.

Yes, this seems to be the best solution.

Yes, replay from Vox on. But everything that was done must stay the same. No moving the worker/settler/scout in a direction other than what was done before.

Whatever will be decided, it will most probably not affect teams prior to Vox Controli (unless the whole game is restarted, which I really hope will not happen, considering how messy it was yesterday). Should the first turn be replayed, it would affect Voxes, Luxes, and Legos only. Voxes would set up a password and the other two teams would make sure the AP remains off.

Goes without saying, I believe. Anyone out for cheating could have done so during their first turn anyway, by loading/playing the received savegame more than once, picking the best variation. We have to trust each other that we will play honorably.

Maybe it would be helpful to know what method for loading the game was used by each team,
See this post from notyoueither.
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=69503
I'm not sure that our team did it the right way.
