I think 168 turns is by far too many.
IMHO, this operation is best represented by a two-unit battle on a medium-sized world map.

Only if both the unit's graphics are crudely modifed versions of the default Civ 2 Armor unit

Hey if you can come up with a way to have more than one turn each "year" but less than 12 months I'd certainly like to hear it...

What do you mean by "modified"? Real scenarios keep the Civ2 Armor - just ask Markos.

No WW2 era armor unit could possibly be considered complete without a 9 pixel flag added with MS paint (cool gunflashes are strictly optional)

I assume from the unit you posted Darth, that this will be an MGE scenario?
What does the map look like, I assume the eventual goal would be Antwerp, no?

Hmmmm. No dice. It is a great idea, but it'll alter the pallete to something that civ doesnt like of course. You could go in and manually recolour (or using the pallete method) all of the pixels to a few shades darker.

I was thinking the units would be nearly invisible, almost like what Nemo wanted to do with Battle of Britain. And then you would be blundering around in the dark I would only be for a few hours ofcourse

Procedure for PSP 7:
-save the Civ2 palette
-increase colours to 16 million
-right-sample each transparent colour
-CTRL+T and deselect the sampled background colour
-Colours > Adjust > Brightness&Contrast
-load the Civ2 palette
You might have problems if your using the original Microprose palette in cities.gif and terrains.gif. I don't.

DarthVeda, in my Persian Wars scenario each year last four turns: Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter.
I have named every third month Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter and put the turn year increment(or whatever it is called) to 3.
In the original WWII civ2 scenario that comes with the game, the time scale is two months per turn. The same with Age of Napoleon that comes with Conflicts in Civilization.
P.S What about Operation Greif?
P.S 2.
Does anubody know the casualty figures for the battle of the Ardennes? The most objective ones i could find were 100.000 Germans and 88.000 Americans with 1.200 British. The German looses seem inflated IMHO. Their battle casualties(dead and wounded) were light i speculate, since they lost almost no tactical battle on the Wacht am Rhein operation(apart from Bastogne that is). Unless the Wermacht surrendered by the thousands to the Americans (which was certainly not typical for the quality of troops involved), the historians have intentionally hidden the truth.

Have you seen Scott Fluhr's Jagdtiger? Not that Pap's is bad, but Scott's is a little better proportioned. It's on the last pageof the graphics showcase thread
This looks great, can't wait, can't wait...
Edit: Pap, not jimmy

Do your shields look right at night? You've changed the reserved red flood colour.

Why are all the British units marked 'free'? British troops played a significant role in the battle...

How come you have units marked as "free" in general? Is it because you haven't found the right graphics yet or is it because those slots ae free?
Leo: what do those red shields in the corner do? And if the Pink colored ones in the corner are modified, can you change the shape of the shield? Probably not...

Yes you can...
However about 50% of the shield will be behind the power bar and thus invicible ingame
