Standard British winter wear was a brown leather jerkin (sleaveless jacket) worn over battledress and a pair of woollen gloves. They were hard as nails those boys - none of your poncey snow overshoes or proper winter jackets. I think in early '45 some were issued with white jackets and trousers as camo
Haven't got a scanner so i've drawn on one of Alex's graphics
PS like the units

Check out: http://britmods.freehosting.net/cmwintercan.htm for some tips
DV: I think that's what Commonwealth troops wore in North Africa during the winter.

Case is right - that's an 8th Army soldier in a greatcoat. The leather jerkin was mid-thigh length and had no sleeves. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Leo: what do those red shields in the corner do?
The first red shield determines the shape. Its red gets replaced by the colour of its civ and all of the other colours are kept. The second red shield and the purple shield do nothing.
And if the Pink colored ones in the corner are modified, can you change the shape of the shield?
If by Pink you mean what I call Purple, it's just there for reference purposes. A health-bar of that size will overlap the top of the first red shield. The shape can be tweaked by changing the red shield.

You weren't kidding! Those terrains look quite stunning.
I'm not quite so sure about the colour of the roofing though. Somehow it looks a little ... off ... ?
Maybe a little darker?

BTW, you should probably remove the smoke from the night time factories.

Looks superb
Are you going to restrict air combat during periods of snowy weather a la Red Front? US air ops were severely hampered by the crappy weather, and when it cleared in early January (?) 45 they tore the Germans to bits.

yes. I've read quite a bit on the battle so air power will really only appear when it did historically.

If you haven't seen it, the offical US history of the Battle of the Bulge is online at: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/wwii/7-8/7-8_cont.htm It could be useful for tracking down the names of obscure points on the map and the arrival date of reinforcements, etc.

Heh, I got that whole biotch in a hardcover edition. Glossy maps a go-go. Really top-shelf stuff. Strangely it had a bargain sticker on it, $19.95 US at Barnes and Nobles. I bought it when I fancied a Bulge scenario as well.

What scale are we talking unit wise Darth? Does one Tiger unit equal one Tiger or one platoon, or even higher? And as for the infantry as well.

There are 12 units for each division. The american side will see numbers higher than that because of the events.
I proportionally broke it up so you won't have more Tigers or Tiger II in the scenario than there would have been proportionally in the battle of the bulge. Other tanks I couldn't get quite specific numbers on but the Tigers should be accurate in number.
