Office of the Director of Science: Open comments
Now that the Directorate of Science has successfully captured and put under supervision the round fire-breathing poinging things that were nesting in our basement, we have time for other things. So, I'm opening the Directorate up for comments. How should we direct our research? Should we try to find techs that will win the Hive war? Technology that will help our economy? Technology that tells us more about the physics of the universe? That tells us more about life on Chiron? At the moment, we have two polls strongly endorsing Environmental Economics as the next object of research. After that, where would you like to go? The sky is the limit (and even that wouldn't stop us if we chose to go the air power and space exploration route).

And we still don't have Transcendence....no wonder you're not DoR anymore!

I am still not sure which road we should go to right now as we have not yet infiltrated the Hive up so far ( I know it is for real soon but has not been done yet).
So I'll give two opinions here :
- If we must focus to tech for fighting the Hive :
Research Syntetic fossile fuels ( for missile launcher ) and then Doctrine : Air Power as soon as possible, as it will allow us to launch attack to yang without fear of counter attack and, after some bombing, allows us to create Air Transporter to drop troops in the hearth of Yang Territory.
- If we choose to focus on our development :
We have several options in that case then though I would be favorable toward researching Centauri empathy and Centauri Meditation.
Two reasons for that, Biology Lab will provide us with extra research at low cost and, because we are relying greatly on forest, will protect these forest from Virus.
More importantly, is the acquisition of Empath with centauri meditation. It allows us to control Drone in a efficient way, help to trigger Golden Age and, with the extra cash they throw in, will allow us to divert some energy from economy to research.
Of course, there are other viable option for development (focusing our research toward hybrid forest for examples)

i've found those to be quite useless. they're slow as a 1 legged turtle, and can only carry 1 or 2 units. i don't think they'd even make it to hive territory before crashing

They are that slow ?
I know that needlejet transporter suffer a movment penalty, but I never thought It would be that bad.
So much for Airpower then.
Research Gun chaos instead then

Okay, I remember now.
And they are 10 movments on two turns with fusion correct ?
Now wonder we don't see much of those in the games
EDIT MODE :
but they would be a bit overpowered if they move as fast as normal needlejet anyway
Re-Edit :
For Warmongers tech, research NonLinear Math, get Cyberethics from morgan, and then research superstring theory => Chaos guns.

Oops ...
But yes, that's what I meant
Basically, from the best of my knowledge, Transport module divide movment by two or by one depending on the chassis.
Basically, it is meant for naval use mainly.
